This is incredible. I was hanging a hummingbird feeder on my deck today. While I was hanging it, a hummingbird flew up and started feeding from it while it was still in my hand. This hummingbird would hover six inches from my face like he wasn't afraid of anything. I poured some nectar into the palm of my hand and he landed then drank it out of my hand. It was awesome.
Here's this bird no bigger than my thumb and he lands on my hand and is comfortable enough to eat. We could learn a lot from critters if we tried.
They're pretty unique little critters. We have a feeder out back as well, and they will start darting across the yard in between two maple trees when they see my wife, who fills the feeder every other day. They don't pay me or my kids any attention. We've had up to 8 at one time going at the feeder, and to see one after another chasing each other off the feeder is comical.
