Thanks for the tacit admission that you didn't even bother to read post #3 before replying to it.

I was just trying to find out if you are capable of living up to the same standards you demand of others. You don't.

I was also curious to find out if you can even pretend to care about the terrible things done in the name of other religions. Clearly you can't.

Just remember, every time a priest rapes a child, a church covers up abuse, a 'witch' is persecuted by Christians or another woman is raped & mutilated by self-proclaimed Christians it reflects personally on you.

Yeah, I'll keep all of that in mind.

Thank you, but I repeat - a non-sequitur. We can sometimes learn from history, but there's nothing at all to be gained from using it as a comparator for current events.

Yes, great point. I condemn those religions as well (for their hatred of the other.)
But after repeated attempts you CLEARLY can't condemn Mohammad for forbidding a Muslim woman from marrying a non-Muslim man - proving yet AGAIN that Muslims (like you) APPROVE of this barbaric bigotry. Shame, shame on you.

The myth of the "moderate Muslim" is just that.

pff... you condemning the other religions for "their hatred of the other"... has nothing to do with what you demand I condemn Mohammed for.. proving yet again you're just here to rally hatered against Muslims. Shame, shame on you.

How does "predominantly Christian/Jewish" mean that it is only Christians and Jews who practice child marriage?

How is it not possible in a democratic country who is predominantly Christian/Jewish to make the law that no child is able to marry? It's not a matter who marries... it's a matter that Christians/Jews let it legally happen in their nation of the free, to than whine and mock it happens elsewhere as if it's illegally in their country. Sounds like a bunch of irrational extremist muslim haters.

Okay, but you didn't make it clear that your argument was about the existence of the law in a predominantly Christian/Jewish country. I agree that the fact that the law is highly questionable. From what I've heard, the law was introduced so that a teenage couple who are expecting or have a child can get married even if one or both of them is underage. The idea being that it is better for the child to be part of a family unit which marriage provides. From this perspective the existence of the law makes sense and it was never intended to be used for dirty old piece of sh*t men to marry underage girls. I can't understand why the state can't decide case by case whether the underage marriage law can be applied, instead of merely requiring permission from the underage person's parents.

    Who?

Hinduism is smaller than Islam, but every bit as nasty. In some cases worse. Islam has a poor record, but it gets disproportionate attention in the West because 1) we have a conflict with some Muslims; 2) there are some 'motivated' individuals (often of questionable character) who will grab any story that makes Muslims looks bad & publicize it; 3) there are plenty of people who are happy to indulge them; and 4) people tend to deliberately ignore appalling behaviour by other religions.

If you doubt my last point dig up threads on PF equivalent to this one about other religions. Either there are very few, they have few replies or, if the violence id directed against Muslims, blame is put on the victims.

Are you having a laugh? Where was the denunciation on this board. I can find you thread after thread & post after post attacing Muslims. How many people on this board even discussed the brutal gang rape & murder of this girl and the support her attackers received from their co-religionists? had this been done by Muslims there would have been dozens, perhaps hundreds of posts about it.

That is just one example. I gave you others. How many had you even heard of? If you hadn't heard of them, why not? Why do you think that sacrificing little children to a Hindu goddess might get so much less attention than an 'honour killing'.

Christianity has a long history of permitting & encouraging persecution of 'heretics' and 'witches'. It also has a long history of persecuting homosexuals. In fact, some US churches have actively supported groups in Africa looking to not only criminalise homosexuality, but to apply penalties up to & including death.

Hinduism sanctions strong discrimination against women and supports the maintaining of caste barriers. Extremist Hindu leaders and organisations have a history of supporting and carrying out violence, from riots that killed thousands down to attacking people making & watching films they don't like.

Of course, it is a lot more complex than that, but somehow these complexities disappear when Islam is the topic. I have simply applied the same standard to other faiths that is being applied to islam.

I meant to ask, do you feel that it was insufficiently denounced compared to similar stories on Islam? Obviously you do.

To be honest, I cannot recall hearing any. Why not? Probably because they've not had the same attention - I'd say that you're correct in your view.

I don't know, but the 4 reasons that you gave in your first paragraph would be pretty close to being a solid answer I think.

Right, so its not that "Christianity is encouraging" it, but rather that people are using Christianity to encourage it.

Fair point. Everyone should apply the same standard to other faiths.

The law does support the intent that a pedophile gets to marry and rape his victim, instead of punishing the pedophile. And your excuses are frankly really disgusting. And it always has been about the law.

How does it do this? Does it say it in the law?

What the hell? What excuses did I make?

What has always been about the law?

It's obvious you're just here to interrogate me, because you lack the capability to make an argument to dispute what I wrote.

In order to know what you mean, I need to ask questions. Do you even know why the child marriage law was introduced?

I don't care. It's there. Pedophiles use it. And than the far right mocks what Muslims under their laws, when their own laws are similar.
    Joke is on them lot.

Do you have any examples of pedophiles who use it?

What the hell? What excuses did I make?

Not making any excuse for the abhorrent treatment of women that some "cultures" allow, but it isn't an example of paedophilia when she was 15. Paedophilia is with pre pubescent children by definition. Rape yes. Paedophilia no

Oh good lord... So according to you... its "just supports rape".

Well... how about you go nitpick on 10 year old girls marrying 31 year old adults.
The US law plays in the hand of pedophiles. Period. And it's a total joke Americans go lecture the Muslims. A total joke.

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...rides-new-jersey-chris-christie-a7830266.html

The youngest wedded were three 10-year-old girls in Tennessee who married men aged 24, 25 and 31 in 2001. The youngest groom was an 11-year-old who married a 27-year-old woman in the same state in 2006.
