The cat food shortage is for real and has been all year. At least this is true of Friskies which is the brand our cats eat. There have been shortages of all kinds of food. My wife brings different brands or arrives without some staples we are used to having, all because of shortages. It is a minor inconvenience. The inflation is the problem. The shortages will correct themselves. The inflation is permanent.

I saw an interesting automotive TV show recently in which they tested various octane levels of gasoline. I always thought the higher octanes provided better performance. They don't. They also require no changes in ignition timing. They provide better defense against detonation (knocking.) If your engine isn't detonating then buying a higher octane gasoline is just money down the filler tube. A little consumer information for you.

Companies only care about their profit margins. The less they pay employees the better their profit margins look and the more likely investors will buy their stock. And then people claim the economy is doing well because the stock market is up. I say let companies invest in automation which means more skilled higher paying jobs will be needed to build and service the "robots."

So let the companies automate so higher paid skilled workers will be needed to service the "robots." People are deciding the low pay isn't worth it after they deduct all their expenses. Companies can write off losses.

And the consumers of hamburgers are probably getting low wages as well. It's time people put companies on notice who refuse to pay more. Companies can write off their losses.

So let companies automate or just write off the losses. People have been taking losses for years after they deduct all their expenses.

True. And Covid was everywhere in the world too, but it didn’t stop a certain party from blaming it all on someone. Karma ;) Then again, Bidens polices haven’t done anything to fix it. Printing trillions only made it worse. Can’t deny that.

it wouldn't be a 1 to 1 ratio between those widget makers losing their jobs and the robot servicers probably close to 20 to 1
or more than likely the widget manufacturers movies its manufacturing to another country so you wont have widget makers jobs or robot server jobs in the US

then you cant start by demanding to pay more for what ever you purchase so companies have extra money to give raises

As a Patriot I am willing to do that unlike many who have no problem sticking it to their fellow Americans. If we want a higher standard of living we have to be willing to pay for it.

What good does it do low wage workers living in a high standard of living country? People are finding they are losing money after they deduct their expenses so let the companies move to low salary, low standard of living countries.

After I posted that I made a comment to one of the stockers in a local grocery store. He said they are having trouble getting any but doesn't know why. He said they are constantly trying to order it with every truck coming in but it seldom appears.

The more robots you have, the less those jobs will pay because the skill set will become more widespread and eventually go the way of the TV and computer repairman as the cost of robots will come down and more disposable.

According to a woman at Petsmart Purina is having a tough time meeting demand. My guess is that people who have been feeding costlier pet foods have moved to more affordable options like those from Purina. I'm not expert at the pet food industry so take this with a spoonful of salt.

Way back in 1985 I was the guest of a Japanese printer manufacturer called Brother International. I got a long look at a printer production line that had 6 employees. Their job was to keep the robots filled with parts and and in proper adjustment. The machines put out a printer every 2 minutes. This has been going on for decades all over the world. Yet people are still employed.

Robots do a great job with repetitive tasks like assembling printers or automobiles. The people handle the tasks that are not as repetitive or require thought. Computers don't think. After all this time all the jobs you worry about would be gone. But they aren't . Things change. We adapt.

THE PUBLIC DOESN’T CARE ABOUT “INFRASTRUCTURE BILLS” BECAUSE THEY’VE FIGURED OUT THEY’RE ALL JUST INFLATIONARY GRAFT: White House Report Card: Inflation dogs Biden, undercuts infrastructure win.

Joe Biden's inflation surge a 30-year high and wiped out wage gains for the year.
That's because it will. He signs the big red ink orgy, tells us how wonderful it will make everything, and instead the economy heads for the crapper as Biden and the Democrats start stealing the wage gains we enjoyed during the Golden Age of Trump.

Biden's claim that even more red ink spending will "cure" the economy is like claiming that more gasoline will "cure" the fire.

The Biden administration crap just keeps flowing out of the WH pouring a river of nonsense over Americans suffering from #Bidenflation, Biden’s open-border crisis and Americans whose family members are stuck in Afghanistan. But not to worry, if you didn't find their last load of crap to your liking, they have lots more crap for you to sample.

John Fkn Kerry stated that he was unconcerned about the Lying Outlaw Slavers in China using slave labor to make the solar panels being used in the United States. American electricity is currently 25% coal, John Fkn Kerry says that in 8 years, none will be coal powered, but, he doesn't explain how or at what costs.

Kackling Kamala broke out the fake French accent and claims that the "Build Back Better" plan will cost taxpayers nothing.

Demented Biden claims his series of Red Ink Orgies will magically 'cure' inflation, "($1.9 trillion in COVID-19 relief, $1.2 trillion in infrastructure, waiting on another $1.75 trillion, but really $4 trillion, in social welfare spending)." This of course is complete crap as their wild spending spree is the primary cause of inflation.

Biden is doing precisely zero to fix the supply chain problem. The moron that heads Biden’s National Economic Council said that the supply chain crisis is a blazing neon sign of their great success. Be grateful, serfs!

Now Demented Biden's pick for comptroller of the currency, Saule Omarova, bragged that she wants to bankrupt all but a few crony players in the the oil and gas industry. And Demented Biden is considering closing another U.S. pipeline from Canada, making us even more dependent on OPEC and destroy yet another few thousand good jobs.

Buttigieg, who is worthless on the Supply Chain Crisis is going to 'fix' “racist” highways and remove racist overpasses which he claims were built to prevent busloads of black or Hispanic children from going to the beach.

This is where these clowns heads are, worthless at best, destructive at worst, the next election can't come soon enough.

A lot more people took in pandemic pets as well. My understanding also is that pet food companies rely on "waste" meat streams and meat has high demand and less waste. For instance, I know that the Sam's club delis break down all their unsold rotisserie chickens and ribs, refreeze it, and sell it to animal food manufacturers.

Inflation is happening because of lack of supply and resurgent demand for products markets can’t supply. Anyone with a basic understanding of economics understands that when you being the markets to a screeching halt over a minor virus like Covid it’s going to have a lasting affect. The affect being felt now is lack of supply.

    Oh FFS.

In his first year in office Biden has spent less than 1/3 of what trump spent his last year in office. But the “red spending” is all Bidens fault ?

    If anything, you are predictable…
