You mean shutting down a pipeline that wasn’t used to refine for gas ?

But since that is an issue for you, then you should be able to explain how Trump got OPEC to decrease production by 9 million barrels per day and your not blaming him ?

Oh FFS. Do you check anything before you declare it as "fact" and completely humiliate yourself?

Trump's last year in office Total expenditures: $9,139.8143B
Biden's pacing to spend: $9,659.2293B or 106% of Trump's final year.

Strawman fallacy. There are different rates of inflation in different countries and different countries have different monetary policies. For example inflation rate in Japan is .2 percent. In the US the rate is 6.2 percent. The policies of Biden, e.g., paying people not to work, have caused an increase in inflation. You can't strawman that fact away.

What many MAGA's don't understand is that inflation should always be analyzed in terms of the GDP growth rate.

    Always.

Those who claim that the US is in danger of stagflation know nothing about economics.

The reason the US has 6.2% inflation is because the economy is firing on all cylinders, domestic consumption is exploding and demand is extremely high, which is putting a strain on supply chains.

Skilled technicians will always be in demand especially as companies automate which I believe they will. My father always told me if you know how to fix things there will always be a good paycheck. Someone will always be needed to install the robots and they won't be paid the minimum wage.

WHY??? Why deny those jobs to people who want then, why are you trying to be so controlling over other people who freely and willing engage together in a employee boss relationship??? Let them do AS THEY PLEASE.

What Biden supporters don't understand is that Keynesian economic theory calls for a government stimulus when (and only when) there is excess production that is temporarily idle. A stimulus when there is a shortage of production causes inflation. That and paying people not to work causes a strain on supply chains.

OH FFS you are making things up

YES, those are total “expenditures”…….now be honest and go back and show how much of the money spent in 2021 was legislated and approved (SIGNED) by Trump in 2020 and actually spent (REQUIRED BY LAW TO BE SPENT) by Biden

There will always be a good paycheck too if you know how to survey or remove an appendix. Skills, however, become obsolete. Youtube has taken a lot of money from plumbers and appliance repairmen. Sure someone in Mexico still has to make the parts, but I wouldn't want to have to compete with them for my livelihood.

I never downplayed the Pandemic. Maybe pointed out misinformation, but never defended Trump whenever he did anything stupid. Definitely called out the MSM for misquoting him or putting words in his mouth, which is just basic responsibility.

Blaming Trump for people dying is disgusting and is the pinnacle of using death as a political sledgehammer. That’s what people like YOU and the rest of the disgusting hyper leftist crowd should be ashamed of.

You understand I’ve been vaccinated since Feb and will be getting my booster fairly soon, right?

You keep believing a geriatric with early onset dementia will help us. Keep wishing. Buyers remorse is setting in hard in Democrat land and with Harris they have no one to turn to.

Oh FFS. Government spending, is government spending in terms of how it affects the economy. Government spending is on track to be 6% HIGHER this year under demented Biden than it was during the Orange Miracle's final year.
FFS, how is that superior to ACTUALLY SPENT?

Demented Biden and the Democrats Debt Fueled Red Ink Orgy is destroying the economy.

CONSUMER CONFIDENCE FALLS TO TEN-YEAR LOW
    [IMG]

Polling continues to be grim for Democrats, and given their horrific focus on the massive spend that provides endless opportunities for grift and graft, it is quite appropriate that they would flounder in the polls. Americans are not dummies. But Dems foreboding news is not just in the election polls. "The latest University of Michigan consumer sentiment index. That survey measures how American consumers view prospects for their finances and the general economy. As measured by this index, consumer confidence fell last month to 66.8, down from 71.7 the previous month. The latest number is the lowest in 10 years. "

More "surprised" economists. And with Dementia Joe, the economic "surprises" are always to the downside. We aren't surprised, of course, Biden and the Dems were loudly warned that their unnecessary "stimulus" would light the inflation bonfire that rages today. I've about had it with the "surprised" economists. Who, with a brain, would listen to anything an economist with a perpetual look of surprise on their faces, had to say about economic performance?
They just passed another $Trillion+ spending package and they are working on another near $2T before the ink is even dry on the latest one, Biden and Dems are out of their minds, they are burning down the economy, and claiming that the solutions pumping massive streams of gasoline into the roaring inflation. They can no more stop themselves from spending $Trillions more than Hunter can put the crack pipe down.
Deliberative consideration by voters means a more GOP pro electorate. Low consumer confidence is bad for the economy and bad news for Democrats.

Fake News. You claimed that 67% LESS money has been spent during Biden's year so far, compared to Trump's final year. However, your claim is falsified by the facts. And the facts are that Demented Biden is on track to spend 6% MORE than the Orange Miracle spent in 2020.

    2020 Federal Spending was $9,139.8143B.
Were your claim true, 2021 spending would be tracking toward $3,016.139B.
But Federal spending in 2021 is tracking for $9,659.2293, or 320% of your claim.
    Darn Pesky Facts!

Hardly, we didn't need Biden's COVID spending we were already coming out the pandemic and people going back to work and the economy opening. He should have ended the money hand outs and told people to get back to work. And now he wants to add the trillions with his progressive agenda spending and more hand outs and lets do even more to help people not have to work anymore.

nope, the employer sets the wages, not the consumer - unless we're talking waiters and waitresses where gratuity is a part of the pay

Nope, the market sets the wages. If workers are willing to work for less then they get paid less.

    Yes you did.

    I quoted you.

Ashamed of what? To demand that politicians be held accountable for their actions?

Bolsonaro will probably be charged with a crime against humanity by his country's justice system for doing virtually the same thing Trump did here.

Trump was recorded by Woodward explaining that he downplayed the pandemic so as not to create a panic.

Glad to see your position has changed between February 2020 and today.

I guess after 500,000 deaths, you must have realized that COVID was no small flu.

    I agree with that.

But it is still too early to determine the impact of COVID Relief Stimulus on inflation.

    Is it an additional 0.5%? 1%? 2%?....

    We don't know yet.

The country is heading for an annualized GDP growth rate of over 5%, one of the highest in the G20.

    That's double Trump's pre-pandemic average.

So of course, there can't be that kind of growth without high inflation.

Then you don't have a basic understanding of economics. Supply and demand doesn't affect inflation, it affects prices. Inflation is caused by government expanding the money supply. It dilutes the value of money. Supply/demand issues are temporary and fix themselves over time. They affect prices in both directions. Inflation is permanent because government never allows the slightest bit of deflation. At the moment we have both things going on. Prices are going up because of shortages and the dollar buys less because of inflation. The government is doing everything in its power to hurt the economy.

Incorrect. GDP growth doesn't increase inflation. It is expansion of the money supply that does that.
