A family of 3 pays $1000 mon. plus a $25,000 deductible. How in the heck in this ok when most freeloaders pay nothing for insurance and many have never paid a dime into SSI also get a check too. What part of freaking "INSURANCE" don't they understand? Insurance means premiums so why do only some have to pay these premiums and others don't? Since when did we become slaves to the poor and lazy bums from here and abroad in this nation? And since when did the insurance biz get to charge us so much and pay our doctors so little? Now so called clinics charge the working almost as much as regular doctors and they get to use us to experiment on by their medical students on top of it. yet all the welfare crowds get the same all free . One of my grandkids had to have cosmetic surgery after tearing his face up from skateboard, then next year had rabi shots from fox bite. Not one diem of these $10,000 dr bills was covered. All was out of pocket fro both injurys. So that year my sil paid $12,000 in premiums and $10,000 in out of pocket dr fees.
When you mash all the air bubbles out of this horrendous medical sector mess it boils down to this, more or less: 1. The United States population subsidizes the pharmaceutical industries by paying a HELL of a lot more for drugs than people in other countries do. Why? Because the governments of other countries negotiate prices with the drug companies. The U. S. does not.... 2. Tax-paying, bill-paying Americans (and their insurance companies) pay grossly-inflated medical bills because of the gigantic burden inflicted everywhere by the part of the population that can't/won't pay for its own medical expenses. Pure and simple. John Doe racks up a medical bill = $1,000, but can't/won't pay. You rack up a medical bill that should also be $1,000, and which should be covered by your insurance company. Guess what? The medical service providers (doctors, hospitals, etc.) charge $10,000 for both you and John Doe, each. They write-off what they can't collect from John Doe, but also push a lot of John's expense indirectly on YOUR insurance company, and YOU. You probably end up paying out-of-pocket around $2,000, and your insurance company pays the rest. This is just an example... in real life, it's often much, much worse for YOU if you pay your own way in life and don't rely on welfare or government handout "subsidies"....
I have never even heard of a policy with a 25 thousand dollar deductible. That has to be for catastrophic events.

Everyone working in the defense industry or for any company that has any government contracts; Every farm owner and worker in any sector receiving government subsidies; Everyone receiving any form of VA benefits; Everyone in the military receiving more than base pay; Every lawyer. Totally understand your frustration. Been heath care management for fourty years. The health insurance business is so unregulated by the federal government and obamacare made it worse. Unfortunately, they lied when they saidnour policy benefits would be transparent and we would know exactly what was covered, the doctors and treatment facilities we could visit. Not true. And if you earn to little to quality fornobamacare the system tells you to apply for the worse insurance you can have; medicaid. Even if your family can help you out to pay the obamacare premium, you won't qualify. And none of the obamacare regulations apply to a private health insurance policy. And there is no law that limits the amount of premiums as related to benefits and desduxtivle and out- of -pocket. The entire ppaca was a scam, they knew it wouldn't work and counted on things getting so bad that everyone would want universal health care.
Medical insurance should be reduced to catastrophic only! If people were allowed to price shop for broken bones and simple surgeries, capitalism would reduce prices dramatically. Call any doctors office and ask how much he/she would charge for stitches, you wont get an answer.

if you don't/can't qualify for the low cost/freebie shiit just get the cheapest crap coverage you can get, when/if you need medical care just go straight to an emergency room at the hospital, they can not refuse treatment , get fixed up and don't pay the bill, save the invoices for your records and let them file judgements against your house, as long as you never sell it, they'll never get anything...

Obamacare doesn't allow total out-of-pocket spending (deductibles + coinsurance + copays) to be above about $7K for any individual; generally they're lower even than that. There's no such thing as a $25K deductible under Obamacare. Trump is promoting garbage non-ACA compliant plans like those this thread is about.
notice: the op does not qualify for the aca (obumma care), but is forced to have an ins policy so he isn't fined on his tax return come april 15th... obviously the policy he chose is a 'catastrophic' policy which would have an insanely high deductible... not everyone qualifies for obumma care!!!
