A tricky age when you probably have the most friends in your life. Must have been difficult at first.
I suppose it is then except you can be put out if you hit the ball in the air outside the lines and the defense can catch it.
Ah, so you can be caught out on a foul ball. We don't get much baseball coverage here. Even the World Series final is pay per view only. We get a bit of late night NFL and the Superbowl has been shown live for years. I normally watch it if I can.
Starts about midnight on a Sunday and goes on until 4am. Too many bloody breaks in my opinion and that's coming from a cricket fan.
It was actually. Although it would have been harder later. I think that high school is the beginning of the development of someone's social circle. I had only done one year of it before being pulled out. Had I been well into the middle, it would have made it more difficult I think. Still, even at 13 the thought of a move was confronting. I actually cried the day that my Father made the announcement. Funnily enough, I can recall most of the tears centering on the ridiculous fear that my new country would have no restaurants - restaurants being something which I always enjoyed going to. I can't remember where that unfounded fear came from, but I think that there's a good chance that it's because the picture of Australia in my head was a place composed entirely of sand - very possibly due to pictures which may have been shown to me in the classroom of other countries.
I had a similar problem with moving around a lot as a kid. Until I was 13 I hadn't lived in the same place for more than 3 years. We got army type postings to places like Malta and Germany as dad was a radar engineer. My sister was born in Singapore and mum was pregnant with me by the time they returned to England.
Makes watching the Maple Leafs a late night activity for me. I'm guessing you are 2 or 3 hrs ahead of us?
Wow. Another Western nation thinks that something in Australia is worth reporting! It's only one State you know which has been affected.
You're in England. Now, I'm beginning to understand. Obviously I need more coffee. Thank God it's grown here.
It's a big flood, well worth reporting. The couple who had to watch their house floating down the river on the day they were supposed to get married probably went around the world.
