Donbass these days is suffering under horrific artillery fire.
The Ukrainian forces are maniacally firing at Donetsk, Yasinovataya, Makeevka and other cities from MLSR and howitzers.
There are many wounded; civilians are being killed, houses, schools and hospitals destroyed.
This bloody spectacle is organized by the Kiev junta, which ignores all calls to stop this war, instead purposefully committing genocide of the population of the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics.

Q: Donetsk and other cities of Novorossiya are under fire as we speak; the Ukrainian military are attempting to breach the front at multiple points. Why now and what is the cause of this escalation of the conflict?

A: This is a planned operation. The goal of the Kiev regime is to complicate the relations between Russia and the US. Currently, the relationship between the leadership of Russia and the new leadership of the USA is generally favorable for us. Kiev is scared; it is afraid that Ukraine will no longer be of interest to the United States and personally to Trump. For that reason, everything was planned in a way that the official visit of Poroshenko to Germany had to be interrupted because of the situation in Donbass aggravated by the Ukrainian side. We cannot exclude that Merkel was a co-conspirator in this; possibly, she herself initiated that action to undermine the Russian-American negotiations. The fear of Europe is no less than the fear of Ukraine. If the relations between Russia and US improve – Europe would be left out in the cold. Thus, on the initiative of some European politicians the Kiev criminals are murdering the civilians in Donetsk and Lugansk Republics in order to attain their chimeric foreign policy goals. They are attempting by such means to save their regime, to prove their usefulness. However, they are unlikely to succeed in preventing the improvement in the relations between Russia and the US.

The Kiev scum – Poroshenko, Parubiy and others – have built such a reputations for themselves on the war against their own people that they will certainly come to a sticky end. The best option – to flee abroad, otherwise they will pay dearly. I believe the Kremlin understands perfectly that the Kiev authorities are not partners but criminals that usurped power, and no negotiations with them are possible. I want to emphasize: the Kiev regime is doomed, and no provocations, no amount of artillery fire at Donetsk and other cities, no attempts at offensives will accomplish anything for Poroshenko and Co, except yet another brand mark on the foreheads of these scoundrels.

Why is there not an international outcry?
Where are all the Do-Gooder institutions?
Is Putin to scared to go in there and finish off the Junta?

The interview is a mile long and we have to keep on reading to maybe find answers.

Hallo, RUS, I see, you liked my post. Why don't you come and join me? At least you are Russian and know so much more than I can gather from the Internet. At any rate, I will continue with the Interview:

Q: Leonid Petrovich, you were for a long time the Head of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies. The Institute essentially laid the theoretical groundwork for the “Project Novorossiya”, which today the authorities in Russia and Donbass republics prefer not to mention.
At the same time, the ordinary Donbass people became convinced that Novorossiya will not happen, and they will end up with nothing but a territorial fragment like the two Donbass Republics. In such case – without reunification with Russia via referendum – our future looks bleak . . .

    A:
Novorossiya was not created as some theoretical project; it was born through an explosion of the Russian historic self-awareness; an explosion unexpected for all – including Moscow, the Kremlin, the Russian public. Something that is hidden in the sub-consciousness in all of us – the yearning for the recreation of the Orthodox Russian Empire.
Many have not yet realized what is Novorossiya, why it created such an enthusiasm in the society and why so many people went to defend it even at the cost of their own lives. That is because the idea of the Russian unity has survived under the layer of the dead ideology of the last hundred years. Why, then, the “project Novorossiya” wound down? I believe the reason is not only that some high ranking officials disapprove of it and closed it down (although that happened, too), but the main reason is that such project cannot be based on the Red Star: then that would not be Novorossiya, the resurrection of Russia, but an imitation of the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, many in the political leadership and expert community returned to the Soviet paradigms of 1970-1980s of the last century. Those paradigms have shown their ineffectiveness long ago, and attempts to reuse them now could lead to the collapse of everything. Old Soviet schemes aren’t viable but the new ones – not Soviet, but liberal – have not been taken on by the majority, so for now there is no ideological foundation for Novorossiya . . .

I have always been fascinated by stories from the old Russian Empire as told by Tolstoy. Mother Russia... a vast expanse of steppe, agricultural land, mighty rivers and mountains. It stretched from the Baltic Sea to the Pacific ocean. The working people, called Serfs, were dirt poor, just slaving for the big landowners... the same in Germany and elsewhere.
WHY do the people now long to get back to that era? I guess, in hindsight it all looks romantic and glamorous... poetic.
I know, it can't be the poorness and serfdom they want, but they want to be reunited again with the many other countries who used to be part of that empire... to be all united again. Is that true, Russ?

Look at the map, even Alaska belonged to the Russian Empire...

The Russians have at least a chance to restore the old glory IF they really would like to. They recently got the Crimea back; now the Donbass area would like to join, but Ukraine does not. Of course, the US Empire is not thrilled to see Russia united again with its former colonies.

The German Reich, in contrast, was totally destroyed during the Second WW... no chance of resurrection!

    1) ".....to go in there..." - This is a a very serious war. This is worse than it is now.

    2) the Junta - It is, alas, it is a legitimate president, for which the majority of the people of Ukraine have voted.

Thank you, RUS, for your clear answer.
I have reread the first part of the interview and realize, that General Reshetnikov was not talking about reunification, but only an awakening or longing for the old Monarchy rule, a project called Novorossiya.
Novorossiya is actually a chunk of land now belonging to Ukraine, but was part at one time of the Russian Empire.
I didn't realize it was such a big chunk. Of course, Ukraine will fight to retain it.
It is a sad situation for the people of Novorossiya... they wish to separate from Ukraine and fight tooth and nail to remain at least independent.

Yes, it is a serious war. Now, that I have looked what it involves, I can fully understand the Kiev Junta, who, with the help from the USA, will fight the deserting Ukrainians.
But, I do not understand, why they have to kill their own people! Peaceful negotiations should be pursued.

You are right, RUS, Putin can not just go in there and beat up the legally voted-in Junta, as corrupt as they are. The Western hawks are just waiting for that!
So, the Donbass people have to either surrender or fight to their deaths. Couldn't they flee over to Russia? I guess not... they are too many.
It is up to the USA to tell the Kiev Government to stop the killing. Maybe Trump will do it!!

"the Junta "doesn't think that it is their own people.

"the Junta "want it. It is the "Junta's" goal.
For Russia, this is not much. Who wants to, they went to Russia.

Yes, stop the money! Besides, Trump wants to get along with Putin, he therefore would not support the Junta. On the other hand, Trump is also a friend of the Jews and Kiev Junta is mainly Jews.
In another forum I was told Trump is a Jewish puppet! I find that hard to believe.

Are the Donbass people then mainly former Russians? If the Junta wants to keep them in the Ukraine, why not treat them extra nice? I guess, the Junta only cares for the richness of the soil and resources within it.
I just found the reason for the war and the West's involvement. I have been soo naive!!!

Shale gas and the war in East Ukraine

.... No wonder the US government supports the bombing of Donbass, doesn’t see the thousands of refugees moving to the Russian borders, and stays blind and deaf to peoples' screams: “Save Donbass People from Ukrainian Army!” What for? They force this army and send them more equipment to help destroy the land that used to be the richest and most blooming republic of the Soviet Union. It also explains why the Ukrainian Army makes targeted bombing of the infrastructure of the region. This seems to be the goal - to terminate as many people as possible, place another part of the people into concentration camps, and intimidate the rest so they will run to Russia. Those who are lucky to make it will find shelter in the brotherly country but some of them, on buses filled with women and children, will be cynically shot on their way to Mother Russia.

It is corporate greed making money. They step over corpses!
Now I know why Nuland brought them money and why Canada sends military equipment... to help destroy the Donbass people, so they can get at the shale gas, of which there apparently is is an endless amount. These greedy buggers only look at the Dollar signs, not at the destruction they will cause.

    “good-bye Ukraine”. :peace:
The Donbass Is Breaking Away from an Agonized Ukraine

    New things have happened:

Following the imposition of a total blockade against Novorussia by the Ukraine Nazis, Russia declared that she will from now on recognize the official documents emitted by the DNR and LNR authorities.

the Novorussian authorities have nationalized all the key factories of the Donbass.

The Novorussians have now declared that since the Ukrainian authorities are not willing to purchase their coal and anthracite they will from now on export them to Russia.

They further declared that from now on only the Russian Ruble will be circulating in the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.

All the factories in Novorussia will no longer pay taxes to Kiev!!

    ------
This sure looks like the DNR and LNR are cutting off their last ties to the Ukraine and the Kiev junta seems to go along with this plan.
Can the Kiev junta be trusted to leave the Novorussians in peace?

Because the Muscovites would be finished as a state themselves that's why, seems moskals thinking hasn't changed much.

Make no mistake..these are russian terrorists fighting in the LDPR and their so called proxies and mercs, old Soviet minded thinkers who seem convinced old CCCP is returning. Old SU collapsed quite humiliatingly, as it should've since it was one large"prison", as is this silly concept of novorussia, where it's residents wave flags of Stalin/ Lenin, creators of a failed ideology.

Do you have a link to show they are Russian terrorists, waving Stalin and Lenin flags? Or have you actually been there yourself and saw these things with your own eyes?
No Russian wants to go back to Stalin times, at least I can't imagine that.
Just like England is getting out of the EU, why not Novorussia getting out of the Ukraine? It's the people's choice!! Everywhere Democracy is being heralded as the best and most humane form of government... why not in the Ukraine?
