This is a reply that I think is helpful, but to something posted on a thread that was locked for possible copyright problems. The post was: "Even if your assertion that the investigation into Trump's campaign manager's illegal activities involving a Russian stooge head of state have nothing to do with Russia or the campaign... even if we take that as true, why do you care who investigated It?"Number one, Manafort's financial dealings with the Ukraine government was investigated by the FBI (and partly when Mueller was Director of FBI!) at the time and they decided there was nothing material there. Number two, a Special Prosecutor who is assigned to investigate only "links and or coordination between the Russian government and the people associated with the Trump campaign and the 2016 election" I do not want investigating anything he is not legally allowed to investigate..... period. Mueller's investigation is illegal and that's why I care.
You clearly MISUNDERSTAND Mueller's Mandate. I would refer you to Rosenstein's Appointment letter. Sections (b) (ii) and (iii). Also: Sections (c) and (d). You're welcome.
I understand Mueller's appointment letter completely. I understand the law about appointing special prosecutors completely. It is the people who read into the letter and the law what they wish that have the problem.
