"Republican Iowa Rep. Steve King posted a meme on Facebook Saturday, speculating about a potential second civil war in the United States."

"Captioned “Wonder who would win….” along with a smirking emoji, the meme shows a red figure whose body is made up of traditionally conservative states like Texas, Alabama and Georgia punching a blue figure whose torso is California and whose head is Oregon."

    https://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...317-story.html

    And then this from the guy who is President of the United States;

“So here’s the thing—it’s so terrible what’s happening,” Trump said when asked by Breitbart News Deputy Political Editor Amanda House, “you know, the left plays a tougher game, it’s very funny. I actually think that the people on the right are tougher. I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad"

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2...of-democrats/#

So we have the President of the country, along with his supporters in leadership roles, actively dividing Americans into violent camps in anticipation of an armed conflict. That is the President of the United States, the heir of Washington

Not quite what the Founding Fathers' envisioned when they established a powerful Executive Branch

    Welcome to Trump's "greater America"

What is the matter with these people?

The use of "These People" is racist in nature...

I find the use of the term "Founding Fathers" to be very patriarchal and gender discriminatory.

Don't you wish you could go back in time and ask the founders what they thought of birthright citizenship of illegal aliens, guns and gay marriage?

    It would be interesting, no?

It's the internalization (as the psychologists say) of the fact that white culture is losing power and privilege and there's nothing they can do about it. Demographics is destiny. That got said a lot, but when Obama won, it finally sank in. That's when you saw the anger and the Tea Party protests. They (we, since I'm white) feel a sense of rage at the browning of America. That's what Trump sells: anger and fear. Trumpism is the last gasp of the old white culture.

You see the same thing in the incel community- women are empowered, the era of treating them as objects is over, and some men will literally commit murder rather than share power with women. They're also losers who can't get laid, so there's that as well.

If you showed them a cell phone, they would think it's magic. That's why the Constitution gets amended and interpreted.

And do you really think you're going to put the gay marriage genie back in the bottle? I guarantee you that won't happen.

So then I guess the President of the country going out of his way to purposely divide Americans is acceptable to you

Yeah, that begs an obvious question: with all the problems the country is facing, elected politicians are trolling people? And some people are OK with that?

    Wtf is wrong with you?

Actually, the Founding Fathers were very aware and even predicted that over time, branches of the state or federal government would overstep their constitutional authority and that violence might be necessary to restore the Constitution to the republic. That is the entire function and purpose of the 2nd Amendment.

This is exactly what the Founding Fathers envisioned .

Don't quite think the Founding Fathers thought the leader of the Nation, the Chief Executive they created, would be one of the leading advocates in dividing all Americans, especially when he does it for his own personal gain

And you are referring to Jefferson's quote, which most interpret as the purpose of elections

When the political opposition to a constitutionally elected president breaks the law, corrupts government law enforcement agencies, all to the purpose of undermining his leadership, they are subverting the will of the people who voted the president into office. Under such circumstances, the president might indeed be justified to do what is necessary to protect the nation from such a rebellion.

Clinton, Obama, Booker, Waters, and Holder (who am I missing?) have all said things which could suggest going beyond dialogue. There have been 300+ incidents (documented) of folks on the left side making threats, commiting assault and/or commiting property damage over politics.

Did it bother you when Obama did It? He's the one who let that genie out of the bottle you know. Does it bother you when Democrats encourage people to harass the opposition; when they tell you you "can't be civil"?

Obama didn't divide people, if that was his goal he would have introduced the ACA as a single payer proposal, those that hated Obama hated him for things other than his politics

Personally, I never noticed it nor would I care, and you are going to tell us that that comment, or a collection of such comments compiled by some right wing source, divided America? That it is comparable to calling nearly half the country "traitors" or "enemies?"

Never denied it may be a quote, but bottom line, show us how that quote, or collection of such quotes of a similar nature compares to referring to half the voting American public as "traitors" or "enemies"
