https://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News...i-base-in-Iraq-hosting-American-troops-613476 What's surprising is that Iran didn't employ one of its many proxies, such as Yemen or Lebanon. This is provocative. It would be prudent for America to just absorb that strike without retaliation and allow the Iranians to feel they "avenged" the death of their General. However, Trump isn't a prudent man.
I don't think that that will be sufficient to satisfy Iranians. This guy was respected by everyone. He was seen as separate to the Regime and free of corruption. Having murdered him when Trump then declared again and again that he was going to destroy Iran's cultural centres it was seen not in any way as an attack on the regime but an attack on all the people of Iran. It has to be one of the stupidest things the US has ever done. Even militarily it will make no difference. The Iranian regime can do anything now with the united support of their people.
Oh, blush --- that's where my family come from. Grapevine, Dallas. I suppose one option Trump has would be to destroy ALL of Iran's military infrastructure, including its nuclear facilities. But then Hezbollah fire about 150,000 missiles at Israel in a proxy response - and the game is on. Better to let things die down.
Actually Soleimani has been implicated in several financial scandals. Iranians know he was as crooked as they get.
Hey Neighbor, I grew up in GP, near Grapevine. You are mistaken however regarding having to take out Iran's entire military structure. We take their eyes and ears and they are unable to wage war as a comprehensive military. Just like we did in Desert Storm.
Sure, Iran cannot deal with the US, so it will open a new front against Israel. In what world does it make any sense?
in a world where you can't beat the bigger guy in a fair fight, Iran tonight threatened Trump if he struck IRAN soil they would attack UAE and Israel
I don't actually think they'll go after Israel. It's a bad move and with Israel declaring neutrality yesterday not militarily necessary. But it's Iran, it wouldn't seem right to leave Israel out of threats. lol The UAE on the other hand is probably a legit target due to american bases and their support for SA in Yemen. I wouldn't want to be in Baghdad or Dubai right now.
If US will retaliate, I'm sure another war in the middle east is eminent. Pentagon is quite busy right now.
Makes a lot of sense to Iran. Getting her proxy Hezbollah to unleash 150,000 Iranian missiles creates another front - and galvanizes the Sunni Arab world to join the fray against Israel and America. This ups the cost for the USA to fight Iran.
Spin is a normal part of any nation's equation - any person's equation come to think of it. There's American spin, and Iranian spin, and Russian spin. The bottom line though is - do you want to spin for Western democratic nations or spin for militant dictatorships? And of course, there's this new kid on the block, the Western Left Wing Islamist. Some amazing spin comes out of this guy too - in fact absolute mental contortions to fit Marxism and Islam into an ideology.
I don't think so, Trump made an Iranian type of move, stroke hard forcing the enemy to make the choice between war or absorption, like Iran did when it bombed the Saudi oil refinery, It was a good move either way, if US intends to leave Iraq or stay, and it even rhymes......
Speaking from Israel - that's cool by us, we need to deal with their rockets anyway, if things cool down - fine, if not - Schwarzkopf their asses.....
If Hizballah thinks its about to lose Iran support due to war with US they will use what they got cause they have nothing to lose, ofc Israel will remind them they have a lot to lose..
I would say this......If Trump does decide to take the route and say "no Americans killed", he might give them a warning "vacate such and such oil refinery so we can destroy it" no loss of life. Then leftists that hoped for war are going to be extremely disappointed. They wanted so badly to say I told you so.
Re Vietnam elections. After Russian Communist control of Eastern Europe and North Korea was understood it was clear that any "free elections" would not see Communist governments step aside - even in Buddhist and Catholic Vietnam. By the mid 1960's the South Vietnamese understood this for them- selves. They also understood, as the failed Tet Offensive showed, that they were no longer fooled by "Nationalists" who were from the Communist Party. The earliest target of the Hanoi Communists was genuine nationalism. This is how Lenin taught the Communists to fight.
