Nope. Iran just went on with their nuclear industrial embitions. THAT made the west go to the table.

That, or just accept the deal Iran made with them other important nations.

Won't be happening without the UN. And the US stands as good as alone on this.

add the EU. They still want to trade with Iran.

More likely that Iran just wait till the US gets an other president who can flip flop it all, while shooting down crap that comes in their territory. Their message about that has been clear. I think they even warned the US that they could have shot a US military plane down with people in it, who also was crossing in their airspace.

Yeah? Never stopped North Korea shooting rockets.

Talking about being flat broke. The debt of the US has never been bigger.

That is a provable lie. That's what Trump told you to justify his vindictive destruction of the US and Iran nuclear deal because he knows his base will believe all of his lies no matter how egregious and apparent they are.

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...r-deal-restrictions-iaea-report-idUSKCN1LF1KR

VIENNA (Reuters) - Iran has remained within the main restrictions on its nuclear activities imposed by a 2015 deal with major powers, a confidential report by the U.N. atomic watchdog indicated on Thursday.

In its last report in May, the IAEA had said Iran could do more to cooperate with inspectors and thereby “enhance confidence”, but stopped short of saying the Islamic Republic had given it cause for concern. Thursday’s report to member states seen by Reuters contained similar language.

It said the Vienna-based U.N. nuclear watchdog was able to carry out all so-called complementary access inspections needed to verify Iran’s compliance with the deal.

“Timely and proactive cooperation by Iran in providing such access facilitates implementation of the Additional Protocol and enhances confidence,” said the report, which was distributed to IAEA member states.

You say all that, but you do not prove why they sat at the table. All you do now is sourcing Iran lived up to the deal.

Any idea how silly the basic facts make those comments; how dumb it is to believe Trump and not the Iranian claim that the drone was in Iran airspace? Don’t know what I refer to? Try this:

You saw the U.S. image of the smoke trail of the drone falling into the sea, right? It was as near to vertical as makes no difference, right? There was no hurricane with 220km per hour winds at the time, right? So if Trump and his military are correct, and the drone was in international airspace at the time, it would have fallen in international waters, right? See where this is going? No? OK, obviously this is very complicated.

If Trump is correct, what then happened is this. In the restricted water around Hormus there are currently 2 USS aircraft carriers, 2 cruisers, 5 destroyers, 3 frigates, 3 fast combat support vessels, an assault ship with 6 super Cobras on board, and hundreds of shore-based aircraft within minutes of the area. - https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/inatl/longterm/iraq/military/usstrength.htm

With all of that military kit in a confined area, the U.S. military allowed an Iranian boat access to the drone debris in international water, the time to collect an impressive amount of the debris, the opportunity to then return to Iranian waters, and for the commander of the Revolutionary Guard to then gloat over the trophies.

Sounds like pure bullcrap, right? Of course it is. But Faux News is incapable of the simplist rebuttal of the bovine doo-doo. So are most of the blinkered posters here.

Because, in the immediate aftermath of the drone downing, all eyes were on the scene. The U.S, military allowed the Iranians to recover the debris …. Why? Come on; it is obvious. The drone had been shot in Iranian airspace. That was an act of war by the U.S.A., right JosephWalker? It obviously fell in Iranian waters and with everyone looking on the US navy was powerless to stop the selvage operation. Simple. Easy. Fits all the fatcs.

So who is the warmonger? Who commits acts of war? Who is the REAL terrorist?

Of course the drone would fly as close to the edge of Iranian airspace as possible and it's crashing in iranian waters is extremely possible and in fact as likely as flipping a coin.

I am gladsies that The Prez isn’t making a big deal over this. Both the US and Iran, I don’t consider either as trustworthy. So who knows. But let it go, no one died so I consider this a non-issue.

It ain't finished. In many ways it has not begun yet. The Week before Iran was supposed to have been blowing up ships while talking to the leader of Japan. The US is trying now to use that to get more military in and been more offensive against Iran.

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...abia-talks-iran-united-arab-emirates-tensions

I've heard Iranian's over the past few days saying they believe now that war with the US is inevitable but as others have said this is one which is going to cost the US dear and it is not because anyone believes Iran has better weapons except that with her good air defense the US wants to destroy that first. I suspect they have not managed yet and may not before the war begins. It is because once this becomes a land war, once feet are on the ground, all the US military equipment will be of little use to them, it will be a Vietnam style war...and of course there will be destruction of US bases and whatever in the region. Will the US which frankly while having the strongest military currently seems like the most stupid country in the world, move it on to Global war. That is still to be seen but given that the US has forgotten Diplomacy no longer knows how to talk but only to fight, is talking now about fighting nuclear wars, it does not look good.

You are operating on the assumption the that the debris shown is from the drone shot down. That may easily not be the case. Iran could easily have fabricated the debris, even before they shot the
drone down, to bolster the claim that it was over Iranian territory. Iran shot down a US drone in December 2011, so they certainly know what one looks like. Liberals have been insisting that Trump
was staging the attacks on the tankers and provoking Iran with drones so he could start a war with Iran. That reasoning seems bogus now that Trump has shown he doesn't want war with Iran.
That makes it much more likely that Iran was responsible for the tanker attacks - otherwise what motive would Trump have? To blame Trump now would be to argue that he staged this incidents
for no reason. That he provoked Iran needlessly without any plan or thought about how Iran would react. I have argued all along that there would not be a war, because our military is unprepared
to take on such a large conflict. Right now, it looks like I'm right and those who accused Trump of warmongering owe him an apology (though I know he won't get one).

That doesn't require much thought or imagination does it, Joseph?

Hypocrisy has that effect on people.

The "Death to America!" crowd has been threatening Genocide against the United States every Friday for the past 40 years but that has predictably escaped the howls of "Genocide!" and selective outrage from anti-American xenophobes.

First, any nation has the inherent right to shoot down spy planes from outside nations. Second, we can't prove our spy drone didn't fly over Iran. We can't trust the Trump government to tell the truth any more than we can trust the Iranian government. We probably do fly spy planes over Iran quite frequently. This whole issue is a manufactured one. Iran was complying with an agreement we helped write, & Trump unilaterally broke away from that agreement, for no rational reason. Trump created this issue unnecessarily, & made it much more likely that Iran will develop nuclear weapons as a result. Trump is an inept President.

You should read what was in the deal before you say they broke it. It limited the number of centrifuges it did not eliminate them. They have a nuclear power plant you know.

This seems to be the new democrat interpretation of law. The accused has to prove his innocence. Iran shot down our plane so it's incumbent on them to prove it was in their airspace otherwise it's open season on any aircraft flying anywhere near their airspace and they get to claim it violated their airspace and say prove it didn't.

Up until the GW Bush administration lied about weapons of mass destruction as a pretext to invading Iraq, most Americans accepted the explanations from our leaders without question. The Trump administration has complicated things by both lying on a regular basis about every conceivable topic, forcing all of us to question the accuracy & verity of their every statement. Plus, the current President has done more to create distrust of the free press & the media, than any previous administration in the history of the country. All that has taken a toll. Most Americans, including this writer, are dubious about who they can trust. Thus, the issue regarding Iran confounds us all due to our current lack of trust in our own leadership.

I read that Russia is able to provide proof that the drone was in Iranian airspace.

I'm going to post something here that I posted on another thread, since it relates to our problems with Iran and the seriousness of the situation. Since Netanyahu has good relations with both Trump and Putin, he has brought together Bolton and the Russian Defense Minister to solve the problems in the Middle East. Russia as an ally of Iran will be representing their concerns.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the latest on the meeting in Jerusalem between Netanyahu, Bolton and Russia's National Security Advisor Patrushev from a Greek site. It said the participants got along very well and agreed on Israel's security. As Russia''s Defense Minister said, it's important to them since there are 2 million Russians living there.

Israel said that his friendship with Russia has grown stronger over the years and what Israel wants is the creation of a Kurdish state and the withdrawal of Iran and Turkey from Syria. According to Israeli sources what Russia wants is the recognition of Assad's government and the removal of sanctions and in return they will push for the removal of Turkish and Iranian forces from Syria.

Patrushev emphasized to them Iran's contribution in helping to rid terrorists from Syria.

The media has been caught in multiple fake news stories so the delegetimized themselves
Bush didn't lie, he went with the info his intelligence agencies gave him.
So what are all these supposed Trump lies exactly?

    1. A "free press" has & will always include writers & reporters who stretch or bend the truth. There's nothing new there. The thing that's new is a President of the U.S. telling the American people that the entire free press is untrustworthy. No President has ever done that. And, it's BS, because having a few bad apples in the media doesn't in any way imply the entire free press is corrupt. Rather, it's generally true that any leader who sows the seeds of mistrust of the media, is working to gain more personal power over you & the country. That generality seems to fit with Trump quite nicely.
    2. Yes, it is a sordid example of our intelligence agencies getting it badly wrong. I wonder whether there was undue influence from those agency's top management to help the President make his case for war? Based on what I saw coming from Bush's U.N. ambassador, his Secretary of State, & his military Chief of Staff, I suspect a great deal of political pressure was being applied over the intelligence sources. I didn't see that same problem happening during the subsequent Obama years, but the current AG, Barr, gives me powerful reason to question the situation under Trump.
    3. There are now over 10,000 recorded examples of Trump lying about a whole range of issues & subjects. I suggest you Google it.
