No ships have been attacked since Trump has been POTUS.

 

As much as I am loyal to the US, the true form or loyalty is to criticize US policy makers when they're doing things that are both immoral and contrary to America's best interest and best interest of the world.

Yes, the US does have a dismal record especially when it comes to its involvement in the Mid East.

I focus on the Mid East because I feel like that is the region in which a WW 3 is likely to develop. Unfortunately, the current Trump administration with Bolton & Pompeo is the least qualified, most immoral & most incompetent pack of pro Zionist war mongers that the US has had in many decades.

While most of what America has done in the Mid East has been done to appease Israel's near omnipotent lobbies, the rest is primarily due to the influence of fanatic "Christian Zionists". The net result has been an unconditional support of any & every Israeli land grab, war crime, act of aggression & policy of ethnic cleansing.
That unconditional support of Israel has included fighting Israel's wars (Iraq) and attempting to make the entire region for Zionist Regional Hegemony ( please see the Oded Yinon Plan).

In the process of "fighting terrorism", the US has only further engendered anti American sentiment in the region.
Of course the Muslims who live in areas occupied by the US resent American troops in their countries. I know how Americans or anyone else would react to being occupied by a foreign military and the Muslims are no different
Additionally, a person is no less dead when beheaded by sword than by being dismembered via drone.

I'm afraid that things in the Mid East will only get worse under the Trump administration (Bolton, Pompeo etc) with Netanyahu pulling Trump's strings(1) in trying to drive the US to war with Iran.
Even if the US gets another president in the 2020 election, most of the damage that Trump has done in & around Israel cannot be undone by a new president.
Briefly put, I'm not very optimistic about the prospects for a peaceful resolution of Mid East conflicts in the near future.

1) not a trump supporter. It is a fact that the US navy is the most powerful fighting force on the planet. It is additionally a fact that the Iranian navy is laughably anemic and relies on wave tactics with small missile boats. We've got grade a missile defense, superior air power, and longer range missiles etc. They are not a significant threat to the US navy and would be CRUSHED in any naval battle with current forces in play.
2) No nukes necessary to crush their missile boats actually. Just a whole lot of conventional ordnance.
