The Iranian woman who protested the country's 'modesty' dress code by standing on a pillar box in Tehran and waving a hijab, is missing and feared to have been arrested.
She had taken off her white headscarf and tied it to a stick in an apparent reference to the 'White Wednesday' protests against clothing restrictions on women in Iran.
Not covering your hair in public is a punishable offense for Iranian women, and the unnamed protester, a 31-year-old mother-of-one, is believed to have been arrested by police.

The woman has not been seen since the video of her standing on the pillar box on one of the city's busiest thoroughfares, without a headscarf or long coat as required under Islamic law, went viral.
The video, widely shared on social media, showed her waving a white scarf in a solemn and brave protest.
Where is the Iranian forum member to explain this ??

Its problem one of those self righteous religious self organizing gestapo groups, putting her in her place, six feet under or however they do it.

The regime breeds them and lets them loose. Nothing but the best sadistic perverted bullies to wrap in a cloak of false piety and let loose on a suspecting population.

The law is the law, but I suppose all laws have to be broken in order to be changed. Iranian women are especially beautiful, so it makes sense why the extremely religious government would want to cover them up.

Reminder that Iranian women didn't fear wearing miniskirts in public before the Islamic Revolution, which was only possible because of the political destabilization resulting from the US backed overthrow of the popular and progressive prime minister Mossadegh

Should all beautiful women be covered up or is just that Muslim men have mush for brains?

Islam is a man's religion, a religion designed to subjugate women, it is an insult to humanity, and why it is ever accepted with any credibility whatsoever is a mystery to any civilized human being.

And yet it's women who predominate in the 'Refugees are welcome here.' demonstrations. I mean, how the **** does that work? :eyepopping:

You're making a forum member responsible for what some government might have done, but you're not sure?

He wasn't so popular by the time he was ousted. That's precisely why the Americans participated in his ousting. His political isolation was becoming a problem.

    That tramp!

Well, apostasy is punishable by death in Islam, so... I call this "suicide by waving a hijab".

Good point. We also are on the same side as these extremist Islamist's in the war in Syria, Yemen and Libya.

Good that our tax dollars are going to promote the virtuous ideology of the Taliban, Al Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram, Al Shaabab and all the various other groups that follow the Saudi inspired Salafi extremist Islamist ideology.

More Americans need to understand how lukcy they are to live in America

I went and saw Black Panther last night with three black girls, one is a hard core BLM person.

At one point, the Wakandan's debate using their tech to attack the rest of the world and take down governments. She started almost yelling in the theatre "Hell yeah, go out there and kill the white men!"

I was freaking sitting right next to her and literally said "Gxxxxxia, are you kidding me?"

Then after the movie she said it again, so I said "Good, glad to know that the US did the right thing then according to you since they had the power to do so."

She go quite angry at that statement, but the hypocrisy of her and BLM is ridiculous.

So the Sunnis are no good, but the Shiites are okay? I thought Iraq was full of Sunnis and that's who ruled the country? I thought you were complaining about us getting involved in Iraq, but maybe that was Iran? Maybe none are any good?

Iranian women held massive protests in 1979 against having to cover up in public. They were much happier under the Shah.

I work with two Iranian women. They're smart and beautiful. And they detest the current government. Why Obama favored the mullahs, I'll never understand.

Well, Sunnis and Shiites are similar, but not the same. Which do you support?

Why are you constructing a false dichotomy?

I'm simply asking you a question. Do you support the religious ideology of Sunnis or Shiites?

It's like asking if you are a Catholic or a Protestant.

Why would we need an Iranian to explain this? We have been told that Iran has the morality police, who enforce their theocratic laws. I doubt they would do anything but try to re-educate, and threaten her with prison if she breaks the law again.

The saudis also have theocratic laws. Like in the past women not being able to drive legally. It comes with a theocracy. Surprised? lol

I figure, if enough of the iranian population does not want to live under theocratic laws, they will have the numbers to change Iran. So far, apparently there are more that want these laws than not. And they have a right, if the majority wants to live under such laws to do just that, regardless of what people in the West believe. Just keep those laws in muslim lands and there is not a problem.

I dunno if it is that much of a false dichotomy for they see themselves as different. And will kill one another due to such differences.

How many acts of murder and terror have been launched by shiites in europe as opposed to sunnis? This difference actually means something, and one could create a valid dichotomy from it. And a useful one from a darwinian standpoint. Survival. Yes, personal survival has always been important to me. And that forces me to determine which sect is more dangerous to western lives. And create a dichotomy.

Nope. Not all Sunni's are Islamist's. Islamist's hate individual liberty and the dreaded "Secularism". They want strict sharia theocracy to be the law of the land/political system. They hate individual liberty and believe they are justified in forcing their religious beliefs on others through physical violence.

The Iraqi leadership was Sunni but Iraq was a Secular nation. This is why Saddam then was the blood enemy of Bin Laden/Al Qaeda ... and an anathema to El Saud.

Iran is theocratic as well but it is not nearly as strict as El Saud.

Taliban, Al Qaeda/Al Nusra, ISIS, Al Shabaab, Boko Haram and numerous others "ALL" share the same Saudi inspired Salafi extremist Islamist ideology. El Saud has been exporting this ideology all over the world for decades. They have been arming funding and supporting these groups.

Iran's mistake was to help out the groups that are fighting Israel. At the of the day however it is laughable to claim that Iran is the number one state sponsor of Terrorism. They just help the guys that Israel does not like.

It is Saud and its sidekick the USA that are by far the number one sponsors of Islamist terror Groups.

Iran does not even hold a candle to those two.
