And they are friendly to travelers:

"Ten Reasons Why Iranians are the Kindest People in the World (to Foreign Tourists)"

    http://en.rocketnews24.com/2012/09/...dest-people-in-the-world-to-foreign-tourists/

EXCERPT "During my stay in the country,[IRAN] I soon came to realize what everyone was talking about. Below is a list of ten things I encountered that I believe attest to the kindness of Iranians.

    1. About 30 people a day would approach me on the street and ask “Is there anything I can help you with?” or “Welcome to Iran!”

    2. About three time a day, complete strangers would ask me where my hotel was and invite me to stay with them. I ended up taking one person up on the offer once. Talk about budget travel!

    3. When caught wandering along the street while looking at a map, people would take up to 30 minutes of their own time showing me the way to my destination.

    4. Like Japan, it is common courtesy in Iran to give up your seat on the subway when an elderly person gets on. What surprised me is that many Iranians would give up their seat for me because I was a tourist. When I tried to tell them I was fine standing, they would reply: “You’re a tourist, right? Thank you for coming to Iran! Let me express my gratitude! Please, sit down!”

    5. While visiting the Naqsh-e Jahan Square World Heritage Site in Esfahan, more than 20 people offered to have tea or lunch together, some with their families!

    6. People would frequently come up to me and ask to take a picture together.

    7. People would treat me to tea or a meal for no apparent reason. Whenever I tried to pay they decline to take my money.

    8. Most stores don’t try to rip off tourists.

    9. Foreign tourists are instant celebrities. Whenever I was in a tourist spot, I would be surrounded by Iranians asking me to take pictures with them or exchange contact information.

    10. Nearly everyone you make eye contact with on the street smiles at you and says “Hello!” in English.

I’ve visited over 40 countries in my travels, and nowhere have I encountered a people kinder than the Iranians."CONTINUED

As an Iranian I am so proud to hear such a nice representation by you and I wanna add this that make your mind so crystal clear about our glorious culture and history:
1- For approximately 300 years, Iranian never invade any nation. within this period of time, world plitical map has been change entirely.
2- Iran-Turkey border for nearly 400 years was not displaced, what about yours?
3- Iranian calendar is exactly according to nature and starts just in first day of spring thereby you can easily find out how Iranian respects to environment and plants.
4- There is no sign of slaveholding in all Iranian's history and it shows our magnitude to humanity.
    5- ...
to analyze those mentioned above you should initially sift and detached Islamic regime manner from Iranian folks account.

Is the thread title "Iranians are actually human beings" meant to be taken seriously? I hope not.
Of course, they are. What else would they be?

I think it means fettered or bonded.. AKA slave.

    BANDA (“Servant”) – Encyclopaedia Iranica
    www.iranicaonline.org/articles/banda-servant
Old Persian bandaka. i. The Term. Banda (NPers.) and its precursors bandak/bandag (Mid. Pers.) andbandaka (OPers.) meant “henchman, (loyal) servant, vassal,” but not “slave” (for which see barda and bardadārī). Occurrences of the word bandaka in the inscription of Darius I at Bīsotūn (DB) provide the earliest evidence.

I experienced similar acts of kindness from Muslims throughout the Islamic Middle East as those described by tourists to Iran. All of the Arabs I met were kind to me and overwhelmingly curious about life in America, American cars, American movies etc but especially curious about what they perceived as American hostility toward them.
Two of the questions I was most frequently asked by my Islamic hosts were:
    1. Why do Americans suddenly hate us?
    2. Why does America help Israel kill & displace the Palestinians.
I tried to explain the toxic influence of America's pro Israel MSM & the malevolent machinations of the Israeli lobbies that dominate US Mid East Policy but my Muslim hosts still couldn't understand how people as sophisticated as Americans could be so thoroughly duped and manipulated nor can I.

Unless they are in the way, in which case they go from being "human beings" to "collateral damage".
