The fishermen are not backing down, and have basically told the Russian Ambassador to gfh. The basis for their stance, according to the fishermen, is the very probable damage to the ecosystem on which their livelihoods depend, include possibly changing the migration patterns of tuna for years. Agree... who can take on the world famous Irish Fishermen and hope to win?? I imagine there will also be a handful of reporters with cameras on boats nearby.... That cannot be good for hoped-to-be-private Russian activities. As an aside, the absolute BEST Fish and Chips I ever ate was from a street vendor in Limerick Ireland, served in a rolled up newspaper with salt and vinegar. Exactly. The fishermen will prevail. How would the Russian Navy explain it if their fake war games resulted in harm to unarmed fishermen and/or their boats?

Again, don't get caught believing what the Russian ambassador to any country says without verification. Does anybody really think the Russian military gives much credence to what one of their lesser ambassadors says??
