Georgia Amy. Amy from Georgia. When someone talks about "the south" or "the north" in the US, you are typically referencing the states involved in the Civil War.

Atlanta Georgia was a great place to live before the hippie commies took over the state. Of course not all who called themselves 'hippy' were communist. .

The upper part of FL and the panhandle to Jacksonville are definitely part of the South.

Atlanta not so much anymore, than Houston, with all the northern immigration in the last forty years.

I'm from Georgia too. Loved growing up there. Left in 1975 but went back to live a few years at a time till 20 years ago. Atlanta and Stone Mountain were my old stomping grounds. I can't walk up that mountain now without lots of breaks. But I use to run up. I visited Stone Mountain a few months ago. Stayed at the S.M. campground.

Dixie. Florida and Texas aren't Dixie. Atlanta has become home to many not born here. Hartsfield Jackson is the busiest airport in the world. Atlanta is a very eclectic economical and cultural environment.

Lol. Um, that movement happened during the 60's and early 70's. Georgia is part of Bible Belt, USA and reliably GOP leaning.

Yeah we’re headed for a civil war. The trump supporters will end up in Russia since they love Putin over America.

Why do most people visit Stone Mountain? How can you get to the top of the mountain without climbing? Where do Elvis and Ray Charles fit in?

I've been to Atlanta (short visits) it is much more cosmopolitan than its surrounding area, a modern contemporary city in the middle of nowhere.

A whole lot of people have the opposite perspective, that is, that a big city is nowhere in the middle of somewhere.

Yup, eastern Texas and all of Florida are Dixie. Atlanta is not Dixie, because of the non-southerners living there.

Lol. That sounds like something someone who has never been to Atlanta or the metro area would say.

Atlanta is a city. The Confederate states are Dixie.

Because it is beautiful and scenic. Why would anyone not want to go there? You can ride the sky lift up to the top. I think it is more about the songs they sing about Dixie and Georgia than it is about Elvis and Ray.
In the mid 1960s they had teen dances on top of the mountain for awhile. I can remember when Stone Mountain was all dirt roads.

That is what I said. I was living there during those times. Once the leftist took over Atlanta crime increased and downtown has not been safe since. We use to take a bus to the Realto and Fox Theatre and ride home at midnight not it is not safe to ride the bus at all even in midday much less be there at night.

Elvis sings Dixie, Ray sings Georgia. Both songs have been staples in the Laser Show for decades that crowds gather on the lawn to watch just after the sun goes down. There are also a few other songs that have been part of the show for 30+ years. Can you name them?
What divides the lawn in half?
The Laser Show is the park's most notable attraction. When I asked about Elvis and Ray, anyone who has been to Stone Mountain in the last 30 years would know the songs are part of the show.

The bus? Perhaps you mean MARTA. What are the most intriguing and unique features about the Fox? And what word usually goes in front of the Fox?

I haven't been to the lazor show in 30 years. My granddaughter was just a few months old and I was trowing her up in the air in her little onesey outfit balancing her on my knees there on the lawn. She slipped out of my hands and went sailing into the air. Her Papa caught her and the ones behind us gave him a huge applause and standing ovation. She is now 31.

You can't name any other songs? You cannot describe what divides the lawn?
