Is Donald Trump any different from any other president before him?

For me, yes he is different because he's the outsider, watching the diplomats give evidence it was very clear they disapproved of Trump's unconventional behaviour, that he doesn't believe in the system and couldn't care less about convention, sometimes a good thing, sometimes not so good. But why people voted for him, he wasn't the same old, same old.

 

The never Trumpers continue to prove why Trump was elected. All you have to do is read their opinions to understand why. They exalt the credentialed as the elite that know better than the great unwashed yet status is not an indicator of common sense.

Trump not only is an outsider, he is looked down upon by the elitists as ‘not one of them’. Nevermind the good results of his Presidency, this abomination of ‘right thinking’ cannot be tolerated.

 

I imagine that Al Capone would have been pretty much on par with the way trump is handling the job.

 

Until Trump became president Warren G. Harding was recognized as the worst and most corrupt president in the history of this country, however Trump easily tops that now. I believe when the historians write the book on Trump, they will prove me right.

 

Just curious, the IRS took down Al Capone how come they didn't do the same with Trump?

What will trump be noted for??? He's a congenital liar, Michael Flynn, Michael Cohen, Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, George Popodopoulos, etc and that doesn't include those who haven't been convicted yet. He'll also be noted for abandoning the Kurds, numerous violations of the emolument clause and currently under investigation for impeachment.

As corrupt as he was, Warren G. Harding was never impeached.

 

Trump is very popular with people who think that an accident of birth has made them the "Master Race", and that whatever problems they may have are totally due to shadowy conspiracies to keep people like themselves from their rightful places as commandants rather than due to any fault of theirs at all. This belief is naturally very attractive to many In 2016 the majority of sane people were completely put off of politics by the Republican's blatant calumny coupled with their own candidates lack of charisma and so many of them stayed at home, confident that nobody would be so truly foolish as to vote for a raving madman. The true believers in their own superiority OTOH saw one of their own being put forth as the Great White Hope and so came out in droves. Hopefully, these last years have taught us the true cost of complacency and we will not make that mistake again

 

I think he's pretty similar to those who came before him. Just more overt ego.

 

He's not in the secret societies, the family reunions, the elitist cults. And worse, he doesn't want to be. That alone would make the elite establishment hate him. But he won't 'play ball' at the agenda of economic warfare against the US to topple it so its remains can be ushered into a new global government, either. And they can't make him. So they hate him for that too.

Really, they just hate everyone and everything that won't bow to them. Not only will Trump not bow, but he's a symbol that many Americans will not either. Trump is essentially the harbinger of the controlling elite's impending failure and pathetic evaporation into the dustbin of history.

 

You mean the “same old” that has been working for several centuries now? The last time that an English speaking nation had a ruler this dictatorial they cornered him at Runnymede and made him sign the Magna Carter. Since that day toilets in the UK have been known as “johns” in memory

Again, how different from any other president? FDR, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Reagan, Bush Snr, Clinton all lied to the public. Plenty of previous presidents had associates who went to prison, Iran/Contra, Whitewater, Watergate, Chinagate. Gerald Ford abandoned the South Vietnamese, Bush Sr abandoned the Marsh Arabs, Obama abandoned the Iraqis, Reagan abandoned Lebanon, Clinton abandoned Somalia.

Being under investigation for impeachment is no detriment to him, not when you have a DNC dominated Congress which started talking about him being impeached before he even took power. Harding wasn't impeached because his party controlled Congress and he died before most of the scandals came to light.

Apart from the fact you dislike him, what has Trump done wrong?

 

Some would say it's been working, a great many others would say it wasn't working for them and that's why they wanted change. How is Trump dictatorial? I would say he's actually far less so than Obama and Bush Jr who ruled by executive order?

 

Yeah, this idea that "all Trump supporters are racists!" is the last refuge of the desperate leftie, a belief that is very attractive to many. The rust belt states that put Trump in office voted for Obama twice, where did all these new racists come from?

That's an 'interesting' interpretation why Hilary lost in 2016, we'll see how it stands up in 2020.

You make assumptions you cannot prove. Yes, all presidents lie at some point, however Trump's level of lying is unprecedented; No president that I know of has used vulgar language publicly to the extent that Trump has; no president has divided the country like Trump has; no president has broken campaign promises to the level as Trump has; no president has had the high level of associates go to prison; no president has gone through so many cabinet officials in such period of time like Trump has; no president has attacked our veterans publicly as Trump has; no president has publicly attacked our agencies like Trump has. The list goes on and on. The fact is IMO that trump will go down in history as the worst president in the history of this country for the reasons stated above.
