Imposable to say whether it has anything to do with the management wanting to pay a person less based on their gender, hardly likely that they are going to admit it.

Something tells me these gender studies majors think they will make a living as a social justice warrior or gender studies prof.

Hardly likely to ever prove it. But if it was the case, every woman that applied would be hired just to cut down on the costs, like how illegals are hired to cut down on costs.

not exactly, if they did that then you can guarantee they would be scrutinized to see if they were paying reduced wages .. as to the illegals comment, not something I can say anything about its not something I've really researched.

I find it funny that you cant agrue the facts that I have put up there. There is no sense that a woman wouldn't be hired over men if they always got paid less per hour. We know this would happen because illegals already prove that it is the case. Men earn more because they work more. Overall, they also take the less desirable jobs which pay more. And they are also more involved in the STEM fields where more pay is given. But also, women under 35 are now making more than men on average because they are more career oriented and are acting like men used to when it comes to their careers. They are more focused on their careers than on having a family. Other than in liberal work places like their political arena or in liberal Hollywood do you see a pay difference of men and women based on the same work and the same amount of hours.

Yes it is a long debunked issue.

What is amazing is the shear childish stubbornness with which SJWs and feminists cing to the myth. One cannot ever name a profession or job where a man who does the same work as a woman with the same experience, education seniority etc gets paid more because he is a man. Although within many professions within the sex industry women do make more than men doing the same work simply because they are a woman. An example is pornography performers. This is probably where the last little vestige of a pay gap exists at and it favors women.

Time after time if you take into account personal choice the gap vanishes to nearly nothing. It is not even a pay gap in reality it is an income gap but do not expect the fools who cling to the myth to ever face facts.

A science is a study that uses scientific method. A study is an investment of time and effort to gain knowledge. You can make a science out any pursuit of knowledge, as long as that study restricts itself to empirical (observable) and applies the observe-explain-test-revise model of scientific method.

If usefulness to a political agenda were to somehow disqualify studies as a science, how could political science exist?

I may share your contempt of many things called political science. But if someone actually applies scientific method to the study of politics, they are meeting the definition.

Ultimately, Gender studues is a branch of Cultural Anthropology and Sociology, but unlike the two latter, the previous is a highly biased discipline. The cornerstone of Socio-cultural anthropology is cultural relativism, Gender studies is a form of ethnocentric Sociology/Anthropology which just makes it hard to take it seriously.

You have not on a single occasion provided anything to support your BS opinion of "the studies show it is less than 1% when all considerations of personal choice is taken in to account" when I know for a fact they do not show that at all ... it is revealing that you won't actually cite this so called research you claim supports your erroneous opinion or any of the posts where you have proven this in other threads.

You are nothing but a low-down liar without an ounce of creditability.

This is the report that people like you so often cite - http://commons.wikimannia.org/images/Gender_Wage_Gap_Final_Report_2009.pdf which in no way, shape or form states anything about the wage gap being less than 1%

Extract - here are observable differences in the attributes of men and women that account for most of the wage gap. Statistical analysis that includes those variables has produced results that collectively account for between 65.1 and 76.4 percent of a raw gender wage gap of 20.4 percent, and thereby leave an adjusted gender wage gap that is between 4.8 and 7.1 percent. [or 5% average]

The previous debate on this you ran away from - here is the final comment (mine) in that debate - http://www.politicalforum.com/women...r-pay-gap-disproved-about-30-years-ago-9.html nowhere at anytime did you produce a single piece of evidence to support a single thing you said .. all you did was proclaim some sort of conspiracy theory that the numbers had been manipulated, when pressed to support that statement you ran away from the thread.

When it comes right down to it you have been caught out as a liar and a coward.

Now run along and let the grown ups debate.

    What facts?

I've seen you make some opinionated statements, haven't seen any facts to support them yet.

Perhaps in your world. There are reasons why businesses don't hire all women -

Businesses believe men are more qualified for the job ("A woman couldn't manage our male personnel, they won't acknowledge her authority!"), they find men easier to work with ("She won't fit into our corporate culture!"— i.e. "we'll find it uncomfortable having our project management meetings at Hooters!"), they believe women will be have issues related to pregnancy/childcare/feminine health that will prevent them from being good employees ("If we hire a woman, she'll be out sick every month, and then quit in two years to have a baby!")

According to the latest studies men work approx 0.4 hours (24 mins / 2 hours per week / 104 Hours per year - not including holidays) per day longer than women in full time employment, and when compared in all forms of employment (part time included) men work on average 42 mins a day extra (14 hours per month / 168 hours per year - not including holidays) - http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/atus.pdf

Wrong and you know you are out right lying.

Every study of the subject shows that when all personal choices are.accounted for the gap is 1 percent or less.

It is you who selectively sites one example to support your debunked lies and ignored all evidence.

I have cited many sources and you willfully lie and ignore that you have been proven wrong and uneducated.

You have been beaten and your only Mo now is to save face by going in. Circles.

So sad to see, the only time I have debated you on this subject is in the thread cited, anyone is free to look at that thread to see that at no time did you produce a single piece of evidence to support your BS opinion, and as to selective site usage, that report comes from the CONSAD Research corporation -

In January 2009, the Bush administration's Department of Labor published a report written for the department by CONSAD Research Corporation. While downplaying the existence of wage inequality, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor Charles E. James stated in a foreword to the CONSAD report that after controlling for several variables, there was "an adjusted gender wage gap that is between 4.8 and 7.1 percent." [CONSAD Research Corp, 1/12/09]

The Report Took Into Account Occupation, Career Interruption, Industry Sector, And Other Factors. The report looked at the following factors in determining an adjusted gender wage gap: "occupation, human capital development, work experience, career interruption, motherhood, and industry sector." The full list of factors consists of the following:

I have never seen any of them apply the scientific method.
