With all of the rot from the Obama years it is probably hard to keep track of all of the corruption...... Perhaps IBM and "Watson" could be of help.

Actually, I was thinking of the Horowitz and Durham reports. When are they due?

I love how Trump's supporters are giving Trump's detractors free rein when providing evidence in Trump's impeachment. They are totally incapable of defending Trump. Instead, they fantasize and attack the process, totally ignoring the evidence and Trump's stupidity.

It just keeps getting worse and worse for Trump who is his own worst enemy as shown below.

Republicans said Trump's mid-hearing attack sabotaged their strategy:

    • Republicans recognized going in that she's a highly respected career official, and planned to focus their questions on showing how she had little knowledge of what is being investigated.
    • After the tweet, Republicans went even further out of their way to praise her (even calling her "Your Excellency" at one point) — which just made her abrupt recall to Washington look even more puzzling.

Just how dumb is our President?

Trump's order to retreat in Syria betrayed a key ally who suffered 11,000 casualties in quelling the ISIS terrorist threat. Trump's retreat order facilitated the Turkish invasion of Syria and the attempt by the Turkish dictator, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to annihilate the Kurds who he regards as terrorists.

Trump enabled Erdogan to kill hundreds of Kurds and causing thousands more to abandon their homes, becoming refugees.

While desperate Republicans are trying vainly to defend Trump from his own incriminating statements, guess who Trump invites to the White House.

    Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

"Trump’s mistake in Syria is the unexpected ‘lottery win’ that further strengthened Moscow’s position in the Middle East and undermined America’s prestige as a rational political player and a reliable partner,” raved Mikhail Rostovsky in his article for the Russian newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets.

Kremlin-funded Russian state television has openly sided with Trump in the impeachment inquiry.

The President of the United States committed witness intimation in real time by assailing the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, while she was being questioned by members of the House of Representatives. "Everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad," Trump wrote.

Another close associate of Trump's is convicted of a felony. Roger Stone, 67, was convicted in federal court of seven felonies for obstructing the congressional inquiry, lying to investigators under oath and trying to block the testimony of a witness whose account would have exposed his lies. Jurors deliberated for a little over seven hours before convicting him on all counts. Together, the charges carry a maximum prison term of 50 years.

Stone joins Trump's campaign manager, Trump's deputy campaign manager, Trump's former NSA, Trump's former personal lawyer, Trump's campaign foreign policy advisor on the list felons who have worked for Trump.

How in the world did this man become our President?

A senior career official at the Office of Management and Budget testified on Saturday about a budget process that went off the rails when nearly $400 million in US military aid to Ukraine was withheld earlier this year by Trump. He said he did not know for sure the reasoning behind the freeze in funds.

Mark Sandy testified on Saturday for a more than five-hour closed-door deposition in the House impeachment inquiry..He spoke about how unusual of a process it was that a political appointee came in, took over the apportionment process and placed a hold on the military aid.

Michael Duffey, the OMB's associate director for national security programs and a Trump political appointee, signed the documents delaying aid to Ukraine. Normally a career budget official signs such documents.

Sandy testified that he raised questions to the OMB general counsel about whether the move violated the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974. He would not discuss what the OMB general counsel said because of concerns it could violate privilege.

Hopefully, that will be followed up on. My understanding from the DoD testimony was that the President did have two courses of action that would have legitimized withholding the aid, but that both courses required him notifying Congress formally, which he never did.

You're out of your mind if you don't think there's going to be an impeachment and trial. The only way we don't have a trial is if Trump resigns.

Congressional Republicans need to go to the White House and obtain Trump's concession that he erred by withholding Ukrainian aid (blame it on Rudy and Sondland, the former can fall on his sword in exchange for a pardon, the latter for a return of the $1 million he donated to the Trump inaugural committee). Their defense so far is going nowhere and meanwhile the case gets stronger and stronger against Trump.
Or, they can go down with the ship.
My own "theory" is that someone in the WH thought that the Court upholding Trump's right to move appropriated funds from DoD projects to his wall also could be interpreted as his right to withhold funds. Sloppy research and a desire to please the boss' whims, failed to note that there also needed to be a declaration of use of emergency powers and/or notification to Congress, with cause for the suspension.
IOW, it was never "intended" to withhold the aid beyond the end of the fiscal year (September 30th) because they would have had to return to Congress for the appropriation for FY 2020 and explain why the FY 2019 appropriation hadn't been fulfilled. And, since DoD and State had already cleared Ukraine for the funds, that explanation wouldn't fly with Congress.
What they did realize is that they had a "window of opportunity" brought on by the Ukrainian elections in early 2019 and the end of the fiscal year. If they could create sufficient pressure on a new and inexperienced Ukrainian President to make him think they had the power to withhold funding indefinitely, he would yield and commit to investigations PRIOR to the end of the fiscal year, when they'd have to release the funding anyhow. In turn, that involved getting rid of our existing Ukrainian ambassador, toward whom the Ukrainians would have immediately turned to for advice, thus exposing the conspiracy. And, they had to use a non-professional political appointee, i.e. Gordon Sondland, Rudy Giuliani, Rick Perry, and AG Barr as temporary ambassadorial replacements to convince the Ukrainians the suspension was official U.S. policy, before Taylor, Bolten, and other professionals came into the picture.
The WB blew their conspiracy apart.

I truly hope you are right but that promise has been dangled like a carrot all along and we get fizzles like Benghazi and the Clinton server.
    I guess we'll see.

No I don't think it's that clever. The Democrats are banking on the fact that people are low-information voters. Meaning they don't really care about politics like people here posting on this forum do. So they're hoping with enough negative stuff being said about the president that it will convince these people not to vote for him. It's a bit of a gamble especially now since the trust In news media has gone pretty much out the window.

Yes it is, liberals are fleeing high tax states in droves. Ironic isn't it, that those who so love to piss away taxpayers money are loath to pay taxes themselves. Effing hypocrites!!!!

Hmmm...well Trump has just been invited to testify, under oath before the Intelligence Committee and ahead of all other witnesses, this week. This is opportunity to set the record straight.

Now, now, now, don't go getting all damp in your panties, The Dems have only a minor grip on the house and with their recent machinations America is pretty sick of them. The GOP is strong in most places and the Dems, well, you can't put the country through a faux impeachment and expect nobody to notice. I see major disappointments in 2020 for anybody who votes Democrat.

Spot on. I think Trump should turn it around on them and demand due process immediately. There's is no reason to stall any proceedings, a Senate trial isn't up against a stacked docket like a regular court. It could be over in a day. I'd pay to see ol' Schiff's eye's popping out their sockets when confronted by the prospect of that, I bet he'd soil himself as well.

Biden was carrying out the policy of the United States government. Trump was running a back-channel policy contrary to his own administration's policy.

In contrast trump was trying to shake down the ukranians to launch criminal investigations into american citizens who coincidentally included his chief domestic political rival. He was using official urgently required assistance to an ally fighting a war with Russia as the bribe. He

Ah, no there isn't any panic at all about crowdstrike since its a thoroughly debunked piece of nonsense that can only find traction amongst trumpettes and the usual conspiracy nuts.

So why hasn't your Dear Leader's DOJ been able to bring any of these dastardly criminals to justice? Why hasn't his appointed directors of the CIA and NSA not to mention the DoD not been able to come even REMOTELY close to validating these stupid accusations. It boggles the mind to think there are actually people in this world who think Trump's credibility is greater than the combined credibility US Intell Community and Federal Law Enforcement. Yeppers - its deep state and donnie is lily white.... how friggin stupid or paranoid does somebody have to be to actually believe this nonsense?

Please inquiring minds want to know?

I totally agree. We are seeing shady and illegal things being done out in the open by this president and as far as how far has his corruption spread? It appears pervasive throughout his administration and the republican party apparatus.

No actually he was seeking was trying to protect ukraine's fledgling democracy while it was undergoing chaotic political corruption and upheaval as Putin began his predation of their nation. One of those efforts was a concerted INTERNATIONAL one of fighting the rampant corruption.

Shorkin was corrupt - period. The Ukrainian parliament voted him out four months after Biden had demanded he be fired and three months after they got the money.

Nothing at all like the shakedown your Dear Leader attempted, just like a mob boss in the movies.

Right, which is why California is the most populous and powerful state in the Union.

Because so many people are leaving. Makes perfect sense.
