We ate wild rabbits. I think the domesticated ones taste different from the wild ones. It's hard to eat your pets.

Is it War With :flagcanada: yet?
    That's Trade War.

Trump Phone Call With Trudeau on Dairy,
Lumber Trade ‘Amicable’ – White House
    Amicable, how sad.

Trump has also made rumblings of late about imposing tariffs on Canada’s dairy industry. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said that while no immediate further actions were being contemplated, the disputes point to the need to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement sooner rather than later.

The United States and Canada faced off on Tuesday in a renewed battle over softwood lumber that threatened to spill over into multiple other sectors, though President Donald Trump said he did not fear a trade war. Trump has directed nearly all of his NAFTA criticism at Mexico, which makes this decision even more surprising.

Brett Bruen, the former White House director of public engagement, said now’s the time for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to prove he can draw a USA audience, and communicate directly with the millions of people who could feel protectionism’s sting.

    Is it war yet?

Trade relations between Canada and the U.S. are in a rocky patch.

Just look at this past week alone. The U.S. imposed stiff tariffs on Canadian lumber shipments. U.S. President Donald Trump says he came close to signing an order to terminate the North American Free Trade Agreement. And last Tuesday, Sen. Jon Tester (Dem-Montana) introduced a Senate resolution that would ask Trump to examine whether Canada unfairly interferes with U.S. wheat shipments.

We need to level the trade playing field with :flagcanada:
Gov't subsidized farm products are not suppose to be dumped on the :flagus: market.
Protecting American food production is protecting American national security.
Foreign nations should not get to feed off an :flagus: tit via unfair trade relations.

A Canadian man's license plate can forget about living long and prospering. After receiving multiple complaints, Manitoba resident Nick Troller was forced to hand over his license plate that read "ASIMIL8," a reference to the Borg from Star Trek, who assimilate other societies into their own by force. The phrases "we are the Borg" and "resistance is futile" are printed on the license plate's frame.

No Skippy Peanut Butter for :flagcanada:

    You Can No Longer Buy
    Skippy Peanut Butter in Canada
    http://fortune.com/2017/05/03/skippy-peanut-butter-canada/
Hormel made this decision months ago, but now grocery stores are getting to the end of their supply and Canadians are desperate to find and stockpile remaining jars, according to CBC. While customers can still buy the product on Amazon's Canadian website, the prices are higher than what they're used to in-store. And one loyal customer told CBC that Kraft peanut butter isn't a suitable alternative because "it's just not as creamy, doesn't spread right."

Imagine the panic in the streets.
Looting, arson, riots of desperate :flagcanada: trying to get their Skippy fix.
What next. Jelly only in quince flavor? :omfg:

Blood in the streets at least! That'll teach 'em to mess about with free trade agreements.
I bought some Robinsons screws for woodturning yesterday and they haven't gone up in price as $Au and $Canadian are fairly close in value. I noticed this morning that the $Au is going down cf the $Us. That will make our business people happy if they are exporting.
How are you this sunny rainfree morning! No new squirrels?

Canada to be 'firm' in trade conflicts with US: Justin Trudeau

OTTAWA (AFP) - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau vowed a "firm" and unwavering defense of Canadian interests in the face of US trade attacks, he said Friday (May 19).

"We're going to continue to work very, very hard to defend Canada's interests," he said.

In late April, the United States imposed a duty on timber imported from Canada and threatened similar sanctions on Canadian dairy products.

Then on Thursday, the US Department of Commerce launched an investigation at the request of aerospace manufacturer Boeing into alleged dumping of aircraft built by its Canadian rival Bombardier, with Canadian government financial support, into the US market.

They got caught herring handed, eh.

I was surprised to read that the purpose of the original TPP was a way of counterbalancing the burgeoning trading might of China.

They over stay their welcome, too.

The US is finally telling the public
who overstays their visas the most
    —and it’s not Mexicans

According to Homeland Security, Canadians, not northbound Latin Americans, were the biggest group of violators. About 120,000 Canadians with expired visas were still believed to be living in the US at the end of the period covered by the report, versus roughly 47,000 Mexicans.
