I wouldn't slaughter the animal and eat it either. If I can't tell what part it's made from and it's tasty, who cares? Many of the lowest "quality" parts have the most good things. I like tripe, frex, which is the guts of the animal, and many people I know swear by it as a health food.
The infamous pink slime meat product [previously only used for dog food] http://www.snopes.com/food/prepare/msm.asp I'll take a good steak over pink slime burgers any day of the week.
And you repeated the same thing I did--being a jerk to others on the forum for not reading the whole thing. I realized that I shouldn't have piled on, and I did apologize as well, yet, you keep insulting me.
Aspartame is an organic compound. By definition, an organic compound is a chemical compound in which one or more atoms of carbon are covalently linked to atoms of other elements, most commonly hydrogen, oxygen, or nitrogen. Aspartame is a modified protein. It is broken down rapidly in the small intestine (just like other proteins). You should study chemistry and biochemistry before you pontificate on things like the above.
Coal is an organic compound...no doubt great for our diet and health. Aspartame contains methanol, phenylalanine, and aspartic acid...yummy toxins. Aspartame is a methyl ester of the aspartic acid/phenylalanine dipeptide...bon appetit. I don't need your chemical pontification to understand that I have choices in life and when no one is holding a gun to my head that I don't need to consume stuff which is surrounded by questions and warnings. NO ONE knows from person to person how these substances effect the human body. We have options of what we eat and drink so how does something like Aspartame even merit dialogue? Of all the stuff we can eat and drink in life what is so horrific that we can't simply avoid Aspartame...or any other artificial synthetic stuff...
To eliminate a sugar habit that we know is killing people? And who is holding a gun to your head? - - - Updated - - - That's the attitude I had before I turned my life around and beat back death. Just because you know you're going to die, it doesn't mean you should jump in front of a moving train.
Good grief. AS long as you eat things in moderation, you aren't going to die. Why is everyone such a drama queen? People eat that crap and live to be 90 years old. Some people are health freaks and die when they're 35. Go figure.
I hate the misuse of organic. Many safe things are composed of a combination of toxins. Aspartame does not contain methanol. It breaks down to form methanol, but so do some fruit juices. It's your choice what you want to eat or drink, just don't make up things about it.
Did you know that a certain amount of rat feces is considered "acceptable" in our food? That's right. We eat rat poop.
It's only EXCESS consumption that will kill people. Every forum has these anti-sugar or anti whatever food types of people.
Since this thread is talking about the consumption of sugar, consumption of foods, including consumption of aspartame, my reference to 'organic' is not the technical chemical definition but about organic foods versus artificial, synthetic and processed foods. The ingestion of Aspartame absolutely does produce methanol. It makes no difference comparing to fruit juices? The point was Aspartame has a methanol component, no matter what fruit juices have, and let each person decide what crap they wish to consume...
Alcohol is killing people so why not ban alcohol...it's all political BS...double standards. Actually...for those so obese they're about to pop...FOOD is killing them...let's ban food!
So? Be in charge and don't eat sugar? What's the problem? And being in charge is only meaningful if you know the facts. The fact is that sugar-related health issues are killing people. We know this for a fact. So what's the problem, recognizing this fact? - - - Updated - - - And eating foods in excess is easy if you are ignorant. You first have to understand what is in your food. Clearly you don't and object to the effort to be educated. So this isn't about sugar. It is about willful ignorance. http://www.forbes.com/sites/danmunr...lion-in-u-s-healthcare-spending/#19b530ac2058 It is interesting that the biggest complainers and whiners about addressing health issues are often the first to complain about the cost of health care.
I'm not the one who is unhealthy and overweight. I've never had a weight problem and have never had any health issues. I hardly ever even get sick! I just don't eat like a pig. - - - Updated - - - And I work out. Calories in, calories out.
Aspartame does nothing to cure either. Actually can lead to more obesity. It's an appetite stimulant. An people can OD on Aspartame. It can cause seizures. It builds up in the body. Stevia, isn't that a natural form of sugar? Just sweeter than the cane used mostly.
There is this also. What is called sugar was called sugar was HFCS, and the processing of it didn't absorb well into the human body. It was probably the most likely cause of obesity. Sugar from sugar cane in moderation, isn't harmful. But, all highly refined, low fiber sugar, needs to be really moderated. As one said, it's in most every processed food.
That's why home cooked meals are the best! Then you get to control the amounts of ingredients that go into your meal.
The biggest key ^^^^^ Some say everything will cause cancer today. My response usually is, not fruit and vegetables home grown or organically grown. Or meat from a healthy growing environment. Not the cradle to grave beef where they sleep in their own feces.
I have cut back on my intake of sugar quite a bit. I used to love ice tea in the bottles. I now have to cut it in 1/2 with water because they are too sweet.
YES...how about Americans taking responsibility for their lives? How about people eating healthier and saving money in doing so? Using your illogic...how about educating people instead of banning everything via the government? Americans today are just a bunch of (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)!!
