    I have friends who are African American and they say the church is not like how it used to be. It's not for the people anymore. I don't understand. Anybody know what they are talking about? Is the black church different from white churches?

    There is no "the black church". That might be your first problem in understanding.

    What denomination are your friends? Baptist, southern Baptist, Methodist, episcopalian what?

    I wouldn't know since I wouldn't attend a segregated church.

    My point was that it's obvious how a segregated church would fail you.

    Religion isn't about race.

    Many communities and churches, in the South at least, still naturally segregate. It is not that you can't attend any church you want, people just tend to go to church and fellowship with in their own cultures.

    unfortunately, much of what is taught in Black churches is "Black Theology" or "Black Marxist Theology. I stick to churches that teach straight from the Bible.

    Maybe we should include all denominations? White and black. Are they failing their members?

    As long as they are truly preaching the Gospel, no. Sadly, many churches aren't, everything is out there from prosperity/health and wealth gospel to theological liberalism that is really secular humanism in religious verbiage.

    Why are there less and less black men going to church? Church is for family. But it's mostly women in the church.

    How is the church supposed to be? If you aren't black why do you care? You do know what folks say about folks who have to qualify that they have black friends, right?
