It seems to me, Germany can't survive with out a United Europe? German borders aren't big enough for Germany? I mean, through history since the first unification of Germany, it's tried to align Europe to it. Even today. What if the EU wasn't united anymore, what happens to Germany?
Most people in the EU understand the fundamental necessity of first "economic union". And who taught them that lesson? The US of A. The EU is a common, market-economy of 743 million consumers (compared to the US with 321M.) Without the UK, the EU remains (given traditional trading ties) about the same level in terms of "market-economy" - the primary consideration. The European Union is also a political establishment, but above all it is considered only in terms of its economic potential that sustains the well-being of its people. If it has no central leadership in the form of an Executive President, that is mostly a matter of language differences that the EU cannot seem to get beyond ...
No most people do not agree the necessity of economic union in the EU, any more than they did in the USA. It should not be lost on you exactly how many of them died to prevent it. You are calling for war, and if you persist with it, you will create one. Power mad nutbags. Oh yes I'll be rich if I just do as you tell me. Only I won't. You will. And that is not the same thing. Not the same thing at all.
