Why am I responding to meaningless prattle ? The reason is even though it's prattle its still an insult even if its a dimly contrived insult*. Hows that for an reply?

Even as a Christian I think all creation myths, stories, and most accounts of our ancestors etc have intrinsic value. Some have a thread of truth in them, some may have a rope of truth! Who are we to say any story is or is not true? Some stories however silly on the face of it have turned out to be profoundly and embarrassingly true. (especially embarrassingly to science types)

For sure, it's like reading the Illiad. I know it's not true, but it makes for some damn good reading.

I am not sure its OK to plug a book but if I am in error the mods will delete this post,

'Being Gay is disgusting: or God likes the smell of burning fat.' by Edward Falzon

It is a humorous account of the first five books of the Bible, pointing out with great clarity that before they published the Bible they should have found an editor.

No the Bible is not the beginning or the end of MAN, we were hear long before the bible and will be long after its a lost tome.

And I had a little dog that I greatly loved. In order to test his loyalty, even as a newborn puppy, I took him out and left him in the median strip of I-95 at rush hour. I told him that he could go north and south to his heart's content but he must never go east or west or else he shall surely die. I went and hid in the bushes to watch and see what my pup would do. A man with a big juicy steak appeared on the opposite side of the highway and began to call the pup, showing him the big steak. I remained silent in order to see how the dog would react to the steak. Unfortunately, the poor puppy couldn't resist his olfactory induced curiosity, nor the man's beckoning calls. So sure enough, he quickly got run over by a big truck and became a flattened, sickening mess on the road. Now, as if by magic, not only did my puppy get squished, but all dogs and every other beast that has life's breath have become unconditionally sentenced to being squished too - and all because of that pup's disobedience. And as if that weren't bad enough, everything in the universe is now proceeding from order to chaos just because of that little dog's disobedience to his masters commands. I warned him not to go east or west. He should've listened.

*none of the above actions occurred, and no animals were injured in the typing of this analogy*

No, it is not mankind's timeline. It is God's written revelation to us but it is not mankind's timeline.

I believe that we need to understand the powerful case that can be made for GAP THEORY before we can even begin to grasp the kind of numbers of "years" that could have transpired between Genesis chapter one verse one.. .and Genesis chapter one verse two.

This will give you an idea of what I mean......

Much of what is written in the Bible is supported by unrelated historical facts, particularly the events of the New Testament. The writings of Jewish historian Josephus and Roman historian Tacitus are must-reading for anyone interested in New Testament history and personalities.

How do we know the world hasn't been reborn and destroyed many times over?

After the Lord commanded Adam and Eve to “be fruitful, and multiply,” He commanded them to “replenish the earth, and subdue it” (Gen. 1:28).

More proof has been found Jesus existed. Where are we with the missing link? There is nothing "mythical" about the missing link so it should have been easy to find.

There are several other compilations of early human existence, and given that the bible stops around 100 AD, hard to describe as "start to finish"...

Where's the missing link? Without a missing link the theory of evolution is dead.

One only has to look to interventionist genetic engineering to know that evolution is dead...

Your limited 5 physical senses prevents you from seeing all the colors of light in the universe or even hear sounds dogs can hear yet you make the claim we have no way of knowing for sure. Such a shameful display of ignorance.

Darwins theory of evolution is far more recent than the Bible. Where is the missing link that is the end all proof of evolution?

I am of the belief that our Creator in a sense "evolved" and got better and better and better at the creation of a myriad of life forms over infinite time in the past.

The sperm and the eggs already exist and are alive. They just need to be combined to make a baby.

So, yes, and no. They are not independent, but they are alive in say the same way a blood cell is. The question was life. as in new life. Which when combined, they do produce a unique thing. it isn't a replica, the new child won't be their parent/s so, new life is created which was the question asked that I replied to.

Hey DrLuggit..... I am so thankful that you introduced me to the term "Malthusian" several years ago here on political forum.

I have been doing quite a bit of research since that time and I am curious what you think of this related question that I am having?

Your theology and a Basic Minimum Income?

    ?
Should believers in Pro-Life support an Unconditional Basic Minimum Income?
