No matter what our individual political beliefs are in the middle of June, 2020, and no matter how differently we may see the national situation in terms of law enforcement, a pandemic disease, and a distressed economy, the question arises on whether or not "law and order" in the usual context is sufficient for the time immediately ahead, and for perhaps as much as two years into the future.

No, because the leadership of the political Left calculate THEIR violent rioting very carefully to -- each time -- push a little bit more both in regards to what their operatives can get away with and what the nation will stand for WHILE their leftist loyal media outlets claim that there is no systemic leftist violence and that everything is perfectly normal. We are probably still about twenty years away from when a martial law event will need to be declared. Of course, I could be wrong in my time line estimation.

Surely, the America-hating Left doesn't want martial law, and they are usually very careful and measured in how far they 'push the envelope'. But with all the pressure already existing in the country because of the virus, and then this insanely eruptive overreaction to a stupid cop killing a Black suspect being arrested in Minneapolis for a federal crime -- PLUS this killing of a Black DUI moron in Atlanta who refused to be arrested, the whole situation may be getting beyond their control....

Right now, this nauseating insanity is still mostly contained to certain localities throughout the country, with the worst of the anarchy, street rioting, arson, looting, etc., being committed on or near college campuses, and crappy parts of mostly downtown areas, ghettos, slums, etc.

But, brother -- if these mobs start running amok out in the suburbs, that's when the sh!t is going to hit the turbo-fan, big time! White, middle-class suburbanites are not (NOT) going to put up with any of this crap in their neighborhoods, as the skyrocketing purchases of self-defense weapons and ammunition suggests....

I agree, and you nailed the key issue, the fact that the Dem Party leadership only THINK that they know what they are doing. It can so easily get out of hand and then the violence -- their own creation -- just might turn on them. We shall have to wait and see how this plays out.

When 70% of Americans across the spectrum are desperate enough to demand martial law it may happen. IOW, it will certainly not happen until after Trump leaves office in 2025.

 

When we reach a point, and we may already be there, where 51% of the population lives off of 49% is when we start the collapse of our country. That is what happened to the longest standing civilization in the world the Roman Empire, we are in second place and heading that way.

No. We have more food than we can eat, we have no political prisoners, and we have a reasonably secure system for guaranteeing that the people's choice gets elected to political office.

The chaos will stay limited to the leftist megalopolises where the residents are either unwilling or restricted from defending themselves. It will likely become necessary to declare martial law in some of those cities. The rest of America is fine, and it will stay that way so long as many of us remain able and willing to defend our communities from criminal hordes. They won't venture far from their progressive protected enclaves because that's where the folks who won't tolerate their **** live.

I have friends with tons of guns, some class III. They can try but it wont end well, they better just stick to CHAZ and progressive dumps

My vote won't change. Even Martial Law would not shut down America in face of the pandemic. The blacks have won the race war, never having had to fire a shot. So, there is no reason to institute Martial Law.
