If Putin does utilize nuclear weapons, he will not use them in the Ukraine.

If Russia Putin uses "Nukes" it won't be against Ukraine. Much of Russia shares a boarder with Ukraine, Russia is down wind from Ukraine and (mostly) there is no strategic gain, for Russia, in using nuclear weapons against Ukraine.

Generally correct but leaving out something. Low fallout happens in an air burst. This is not the case for a ground burst - where you would have a large area "uninhabitalbe" for quite some time 20 years a rough figure based on the castle bravo Islands.

So .. it depends how the tactical nuke is used.

None of this however factors much into the decision IMO... the main conversation is the escalation factor .. opening pandora's box.
Opening a different pandora's box -- is what got us here to begin with .. annexing land from Soverign nation - Serbia. and i said the same thing back then.. Same with Irael and the Golan .. and "Do as we say - Not as we do" foreign policy in general.

Russia is not the one who has been opening up these Boxes .. so disagree with your assumption that Russia would do this "very easily" .

That said -- if nation of Russia is attacked .. its security significantly under threat - Nukes will be used to defend .. just as we would do .. China - Pakistan - India ... and the most worrying threat of nukes being used - nation of greatest risk to be opening the nuclear pandora's box .. Israel. simply on the basis that it is the nation mostly likely to have its security come under significant threat.

The question wasn’t if he uses them, the question was would we respond if he did or cower from WWIII. But your partisan response does not surprise me.

No, the question was: "Is the west prepared if Russia uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine?". My answer was anything but partisan. My response is that it is certain Putin will not use nuclear weapons in or on Ukraine. Your response is highly biased and reactive, if not partisan.

If you meant to ask: "What if Putin uses nuclear weapons, what would the U.S. response be."; then you should have. You are obviously spoiling for a fight that only you seem to want. The world can only hope that Putin's Ukrainian invasion will not escalate to any thing close to nuclear proportions.

Can you understand English? Was the question “does the west think they will use nuclear weapons?” No it wasn’t

You don't need to be condescending. The question wasn't; "would we respond if he did or cower from WWIII". Think it through and ask the question you want answered. 8)
