Is there any evidence that the natural average intelligence among the races is about equal?

I really hate the word 'intelligence.' Its so damn subjective. Its worse than 'assault weapon' or 'collusion'. As it applies to the ability of a human to be intellectually useful, theres wisdom, open mindedness, creativitivity, common sense, work ethic, access to education, curiosity... all of which may or may not be factored in to ones 'intelligence.' Its such a meaningless word by itself.

 

when I was a young white guy I rode motorcycles (and still do) being pulled over and threatened with arrest for doing absolutely nothing was annoying and routine. In a car or truck I was fine, get on my bike and I was transformed in the minds of the police as drug dealing criminal that needed to be questioned and harassed for no reason other than I was on a bike... so yes I understand what it feels like to be unfairly profiled but unlike black people I was ignored when I wasn't riding.

 

yup, intelligence tests are ways researchers try to quantify something that is impossible to measure accurately for the reasons you listed and many you haven't, there are too many variables that can affect the outcome.

 

No, but identity based groups are. They are who would do the law suits you described. They are who conduct protests and other political events and such.
Until bias is essentially negligible, then you are going to see it.

 

Yes motorcyclist too, but I believe this is from jealousy. In places where bikers congregate, you'd have haters call cops and then the cops come and stare at the bikers. Of course the bikers had to buy things to justify them meeting up in parking lots in stuff .

I still have them follow me when I'm riding but as I'm on a sport bike and not a Harley they do their license check on the computer, see I'm a pensioner then they pull away and leave me alone.

 

See I never knew cops bothered the riders because of stereotypes on drugs. I figured they were just like the other four-wheelers that like to talk slick about bikers and hoped to give bikers a hard time. Now I know ...

 

two incidents I still recall...

1-flashing lights, pulled over, cop says "you changed lanes three times"... me "that's illegal? I signaled each time, so where's the infraction?"... cop "there isn't one"...oh, yeah I was pissed..

2-waiting at a red light cop walks in front of me orders me to park...asks for license and registration, I object I ask why I was being stopped he say there was a report of a stolen bike, so I ask "what type of bike", cop "a Harley Davidson"...me "it says honda on my tank"...he says if I don't produce my license and registration I'll be arrested, which is totally illegal as there was no legal reason for me to comply as I had committed no traffic violation nor I suspected of any crime...but there you go, profiled as a bad ass gangster in need of harassment.

 

I think IQ scores are closely tied to nationalities or ethnic groups. The IQ test was invented by the West but East Asian nations dominate the IQ ranking of nations, partly due to the exam culture specific to East Asia. African Americans' average IQ is around ten points above Africans due to a similar environmental factor as it's mandatory to go to high school in the US, while most Africans only receive primary education.

 

I'd say it's exclusively due to the exam culture, the pressure east Asians undergo to excel at school far exceeds of that in the west. Six days a week of classroom, private tutoring, evening studies east asian kids are driven to succeed by their parents...what has been observed where I live is that east asian immigrants kids do the same here, but by the time that 1st generation of immigrants have kids who are now westernized their test scores drop to equal their western classmates.

There are many places in Africa where the inhabitants believe in witch-doctors whom they ask to cleanse their children, usually by painful methods, of evil spirits. How many other places on this planet do that? I mean there must be a clue there?

 

There are many places here in America where the inhabitants believe in "faith-healers" who can "cleanse their children" by using "Pray Out the Gay".

Not a great deal of difference in that kind of mumbo-jumbo but if you are using that as some indication of the IQ of the people involved it speaks more to GULLIBILITY than anything else.

And if you try to explain to some others that cops can easily abuse their power, you'll hear people giving out the most ridiculous rationalizations they can think of.

 

I've been reading a book on genetics, this morning I came across a section on intelligence and according to geneticists an estimated 50% of our intelligence is genetic and the other 50% comes from our environment, culture, parenting, schools, motivation, opportunity, curiosity etc. So we basically start out at the same level and how we develop further is due to our environment. Which is supported by the evidence of people improving their testing scores as they improve themselves.
