Your whole post calls into question why people have the guns they have. These type of guns in the hands of the people who own them secures the free state. Them owning these guns or not is absolutely none of your business. You have no rights to suggest registration. That's called infringement which is expressly forbidden.

Shotguns have always been a multi-purpose weapon, especially the 8 gauge coach gun for grizzlies and train robbers.
Well, two things. First, there are some that think that due to the way hogs react to hydrostatic shock, that the .223 is a pretty good hog gun. Second, define big game. I don't define Florida deer which average 125 lbs as big game. .223 is not a bad deer gun in Florida. Also, and AR-15 can be obtained in calibers that are suitable for big game--the 6.8mm SPC, the 6.5mm Grendel, the .350 Legend, the .50 Beowulf, etc.
Here you can't hunt deer with one in .223 but can if you use an upper that handles a handgun round. I think the reasoning is that it is so flat here that a rifle round will travel too far.
Is this a hunting gun, or what? Well....if you are a bad shot and need to take out a whole herd....it's a hunting rifle.
Only one I can recall is the 1997 North Hollywood shootout with SKS converted to full auto. Not sure what method they used.

IIRC, that is what they reported at the time, but it appears you are correct. So this still seems to be the only shooting involving an illegally modified semi-auto that I know of.
