There was an unholy alliance among the Brexiteers. On one side you had the Bennites, favouring democracy and noting that the EU hinders socialist policy. On the other you had the supply siders, favouring the elimination of health/safety and environmental regulations. The risks from a hard brexit are clear.

There is no such thing as a bad food...there are only bad eating habits!

Translation; We should be able to eat anything we wish, anytime we wish. Even the highest calorie/fat hamburger and fries is perfectly fine as long as we don't eat that way every day. Nothing wrong with a 5000 calorie hot fudge sundae when we can't resist but make up for it by eating healthier at other times.

    Enjoy life!!!

Although I don't eat at McDonald's...I think they offer a great option to millions who are looking for less expensive yet consistent and reasonable quality food at numerous locations.

I don't think people are unhealthy because of McDonald's or any other food. I think they are unhealthy because they eat 'too much' food and don't exercise. ..

What would a quarter pounder made with Kobe beef cost?
The beef alone runs about $110 per pound.

    Yes and no

Many fast food franchises end up cooking with highly saturated fats this is being replaced with palm oil but that in nearly as bad for your Heath and worse for the environment

On top of that many of the breads and starches are "high glycaemic" which means they are rapidly absorbed into the system where they will spike the blood sugar before bottoming it out and triggering hunger

Kobe beef IS Wagyu but not all Wagyu is Kobe.
Australian produced Wagyu beef is Kobe style.

Or i could go to Burger King and get a whopper combo meal for six bucks, whopper, fries and a drink. With coupon, I get two whopper combo meals for nine dollars. Another choice I have is to go across the street to the Golden Corral, a sit down buffet restaurant and for 8 dollars get a really good meal, all you can eat.

If you eat mostly heart-healthy, nutrient-rich produce, whole grains, nuts, beans, and fish, then saturated fat shouldn't be a problem. Saturated fat may not be a culprit, but it doesn't offer the same health benefits as unsaturated fat. So don't start cooking with butter or eating more meat.

I stand by my statement that most of us simply eat too much and we eat bad stuff too often. It's not rocket science to have a reasonable balanced diet...

However the spiking blood sugar triggering hunger is a real issue leading to overeating

I agree blood sugar levels contribute to eating issues but I also observe how people eat today and they eat too much crap food too often with little to no exercise. If a person has a sugar level issue and this can trigger hunger...why don't these people eat a plate of vegetables and fruit? Instead of 3000-5000 calorie meals? So it's not just feeding sugar level hunger but more about eating crap foods...

Because as this thread shows crap food is cheap. And the guys selling it have allllll sorts of tricks from peer pressure to branding to mouth feel to even the glycaemic index to make the product appealing and addictive

We are good at identifying toxins. Not great at it but usually fairly good. Anyone who has refused to eat something because it is "bad" knows we have evolved with some detectors. We also though evolved to be rewarded with pleasure when eating what would be to a hunter gatherer rare foods. Sweet things. For the hunter gatherer not much out there was as sweet as a teaspoon of sugar and what there was was not easy to obtain. Today it is difficult to buy a soft drink with less than four teaspoons of sugar in it

I agree it doesn't look the best (food rarely photographs well), but I'm sure it tastes great. (sorry, you can't eat either one, because they have cheese and meat on the same dish (and I think bacon)).

Doubt it. Those burgers would be all soggy, etc. if sent by delivery. Delivery is great for pizza, sandwiches and Chinese food, but not too great outside of those.

You don't eat out much. The counter-order/table delivery restaurants are taking over.
