Trump's lawyers, esp his person lawyer, have been claiming that trump is above the law. This is an unavoidable consequence of the argument that no one has oversight authority over the President. They are declaring trump to be a king or a dictator.

Is trump above the law? Stated another way, do you want a dictator running the country?

Here's another one of these 'preaching to the choir' polls. Nobody supports breaking the law. Now... if we can go on trying to probe a little deeper, we might actually get somewhere....

Every action taken by the Republican party to date since the election of DJT, shows otherwise.

If you, or any republican, has an honest bone in your body, you cannot refute that if Obama did even 1/4 of the things that Trump has done so far, you would be screaming for him to be tried and executed for treason against America.

The double standard of hypocrisy within the GOP is staggering. They make me sick.

The President cannot be convicted in a court of law while acting as President. He can be impeached, removed from office and then charged and convicted, or he can be charged and convicted when no longer President. It would be impossible to run a country if the President could be charged in a regular court of law.

By DENYING the House of Representatives access to witnesses and documentation created in and for the president and legally protected under the Records Preservation Act Dirty Donald is committing an impeachable offense!!!According to Republican Gerald Ford in 1970 an impeachable offense is,"Whatever the majority of the House of Representatives consider it to be at a given moment in history".

You caught the Republicans between a rock and a hard place, If Obama were have just upheld 1/4 of the oath of office of the Presidency like enforcing our immigration laws that are already the law of the land, we might not need a wall at the border.

Show me a 20 foot wall. I will show you a 21 foot ladder.

Or do you perchance take on your Orange Messiah's viewpoint that we should start shooting immigrants in the legs?

You may not support breaking the law, but that's exactly what Trump is doing by refusing to submit to oversight by the legislative branch. It is not within his power to decide that he is above oversight. The founders made the legislative branch the biggest and most powerful for a reason.

    https://www.littlegiantladder.com/products/skyscraper

Where other ladders fall short, the SkyScraper from Little Giant goes above and beyond. The SkyScraper is indeed the world's tallest a-frame ladder with a maximum height of 21-feet, making ceiling-height work simple and safe. The SkyScraper is perfect for churches, auditoriums, gymnasiums and other industrial applications.

    No ****, a 21' ladder.

    I thought they were always 4' 6' 8' 10' 12'....20' 24' etc.

But I do have a really old wooden ladder that is 4 1/2' that fits in the back seat of a sedan.

Couldn't tell whether the question referred to the real law, or Dems Witch Hunt version of real law.... So considered the source and decided he meant the Dems version of the law.

Yes, Trump is above witch hunts. In fact, he just said he's not gonna play anymore. Good for him.

I've posted it a DOZEN times... Obama flat-out BROKE THE LAW, no less than THREE TIMES during his presidency!
The last time he broke the law, it involved breaking a law that HE, "the Messiah", actually signed INTO law himself less than a year before he BROKE IT!

But you on the Left never take notice of anything that your heroes do that stinks to high heaven!

    BRIEFLY:
    1. Breaking the War Powers Act, during which he overthrew the legitimate goverment of Libya in 2011, with which we were AT PEACE, and had been for many years.
    2. Broke the law with his "recess appointments"! Not even the stooge-libs on the Supreme Court would support on Obama on this -- and he was slapped down, but not brought up on impeachment charges. He SHOULD have been.
    3. Breaking the law regarding "swapping" inmates out of GITMO. Specifically, this involved trading FIVE Taliban Field Commanders for hostage Bergdahl. This was EXPRESSLY against the law -- a law that Obama had signed INTO law himself. What a lousy, despicable HYPOCRITE....

And this doesn't even include the crime of LYING to the American people about Obamacare -- the most wretched, criminal FRAUD perpetrated on the American people since the inventions of all the other big welfare schemes, which soak the middle class of TAXPAYERS to pay for them.

    Nice what-about-ism.

We are talking about Trump here though. Please get with the times.

I had written in response to posts/inquiries from @Bowerbird .... If you'd like to snipe at me, feel welcome -- but expand the 'envelope' of your mind to encompass the entire issue(s), and, the subject of the thread: "Is Trump above the law?" Of course he isn't....

In my Post #2, I wrote, "Here's another one of these 'preaching to the choir' polls. Nobody supports breaking the law. Now... if we can go on trying to probe a little deeper, we might actually get somewhere....". There's nothing very "about-ism" in that....

As far as "the times" are concerned... well, the issues at hand ARE current, if only because we didn't even find out out Geriatric Joe and his cocaine-snorting kid's activities for-fun-and-profit in Ukraine were until very recently. Too bad Joe's bragadocious little "Son-of-a-Bitch" video didn't get any MEDIA coverage before now, further allowing everyone to "get with the times"....

    Link:

Don't be annoyed, Turin. There's an increasing probability that Elizabeth Warren will be your nominee, and she will win the presidency next year... unless, like Geriatric Joe, she's been found to have done something worse than pretending to be an Indian.... :juggle:

    Undecided.

If Democrats were willing to enforce illegal immigration laws and thus not place illegals above the law, then I would say Trump or anyone else is not above the law. Until then, Democrats shouldn't discriminate.
