How many times have we killed ISIS #2 man ?

Not as many times we have killed Al Qaeda's #2. I remember that the original Al Qaeda #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8 and #9 were all killed or captured during the Bush administration. But all of them were replaced with new #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8 and #9. BTW, who's Al Qaeda's #1 today ?

I'm willing to bet that the Obama administration will again be announcing that they have killed #2 at least one or two more times before Trump takes the oath of POTUS.

Right - it means next to nothing. These are not exactly irreplaceable masterminds, and ISIS cells are already in place and can do plenty of damage on their own, improvising if necessary at any point. Besides, for every "Top 10" terrorist leader that we kill, we can probably keep up with that pace as we replace them with GITMO releases.

Technically you are correct. Just depends on what they do though. In the long-run, killing the people who control the money might be a more effective strategy than killing the people who organize operations.

And besides, it was done by OBAMA. If it was done by a Republican it would be a sterling example of how Republican Policies Work and Everyone is Afraid of America Again, but since it was done by the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) in the White House it's totally valueless.

Generals are generally replaced when they are killed, that's true, but they are still generals and their loss is rarely insignificant. Also, this guy was said to be a big moneymaker. That is a unique talent, hard to find, even harder to replace, and armies march on their wallets nowadays.

Killing a high value target is always a good thing for many different reasons.

    Morale, confusion, money, leadership etc..
