Help ISIS, join the NRA, sell your guns at a gun show.

ISIS Tells Followers It's 'Easy' to Get Firearms From U.S. Gun Shows

    By Tessa Berenson
    May 5, 2017
The Islamic State has urged its adherents to buy weapons from gun shows in the United States to take advantage of gun control laws.

“The acquisition of firearms can be very simple depending on one’s geographical location,” says a new piece in Rumiyah, ISIS’s propaganda magazine, the WashingtonPost reports. “In most U.S. states, anything from a single-shot shotgun all the way up to a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle can be purchased at showrooms or through online sales — by way of private dealers — with no background checks, and without requiring either an ID or a gun license.”

“With approximately 5,000 gun shows taking place annually within the United States, the acquisition of firearms becomes a very easy matter,” the article continues. A photo caption says, “Gun conventions represent an easier means of arming oneself for an attack.”

Gun show? You can get them off armslist with no BC check either. Or the classifieds

You can get them with no background check but only if you are in the same state. Retailers at gun shows require a background check.

Can you name a mass shooting by a terrorist that obtained his gun at a gun show?

Nope. Are you saying felons never get a gun from a private sale?

I believe the NICS system should be available to the general public.

I don’t personally know any gun owner that would knowingly sell to a criminal and I know quit a few. I know a great number of gun owners that look askant an anyone even handling a gun in an unsafe fashion, enough so as to be outspoken about it.
I have sold guns from my private collection, keeping detailed records, requiring identification, and even doing my own sort of covert interrogative questioning where I have turned down more than one sale because I didn’t feel right about the buyer. If I could have used the NCIS I would have. There is no credible reason why anyone should’t have access.

It will actually be more effective than private transfer mandatory checks. There are thousands of private transfers daily, all these mandatory checks for a fee will be unenforceable.
At least if you give free access to NICS to the public, the convenience alone will result in more background checks.

To protect myself, I always get drivers license info from the buyer and I keep the record of the serial number of the firearm with the buyer info.

True. I will not pay for someone to do a BC, but would use the NICS.

And there are people in rural America that live no where near an FFL. They won't be driving many miles to do a transfer and a mandatory BC won't affect them.

So you want to abolish Americans rights based on what ISIS says? ISIS says you must die if you draw a picture of mohamud, are you going to try to outlaw pen and paper and paint and canvas?

The promotion of hatred against NRA is a tool of those that would destroy the Right to keep and bear Arms.

If not for NRA, we would not have concealed carry in so many States.

What does this have to do with the NRA? The NRA hosts a fraction of a percent of gun shows.

The vast majority of sellers at gun shows are dealers/FFL and required to do background checks. Singling out those who are not dealers/FFL would also single out all gun transfers which even Obama wasn’t willing to do in his EO.

Why should a private citizen have to do any check? He's not the cops. Not his duty to prevent crime

I am working at a gun show coming up doing on-site mods and builds. The policy of the show’s admin as stated at the entrance is for a any private seller to do BC through one of the many FFLs at the show which most if not all I have see do it without charging a fee. Some will even arrange interstate FFL transfers for a small fee. And, there are many LE and ATF among both sellers and attendees. There is even a couple code words used over the intercom in an innoculous announcement that notifies vendors of suspicious individuals among the attendees; the suspicious gang bangers and such are not that difficult to ferret. Few sellers or attendees would put up with behavior that casts a bad light on the industry. I know of no FFL that would risk being ID’d, arrested or banned to make the small margin of profit to sell without a BC. A bad FFL would not likely do illegal sales at such a venue...too easy to be exposed, and the law abiding gun owners and FFLs are not likely to look the other way.
