No, this is the statement you made
    .
Jesus never existed, but you best ask the nutters who shout for god and country!

You avoided questions about who shouts that, and how it relates to terrorism.

We know Jesus is not the son of God, however there is much evidence he did exist as a religious teacher.

Very few serious historians believe that tin-foil hat position. What does it have to do with the OP?

"Virtually all New Testament scholars and Near East historians, applying the standard criteria of historical-critical investigation, find that the historicity of Jesus is effectively certain."

That is correct, in reply to the christian Paul 7 who claims that Jesus was the Son of God and presumably those nutters who shout for god and country also believe it!

I never mentioned terrorism you did!

You don't know what you're talking about, a number of ancient sources mention Jesus, including Rome's greatest historian, Cornelius Tacitus. Jesus was one of the best attested to private citizens of the ancient world. While parts of Josephus' Testimonium are probably later insertions, the rest confirms New Testament accounts, and He is mentioned elsewhere in Josephus' writings, as is James, the brother of Jesus.

Dude, how can you even argue.

You can't remember one post to the next.

That's what happens when you are constantly just making sh-t up.

We're getting off track, but Jesus claimed to be Divine, its why the Jewish leadership wanted to kill Him.

There is nothing to debate, you don't answer anything.

a debate is question and answer.

I do not have to answer anything, you make the claims and the burden of proof lies with you, you are similar to Christians in that you try to shift the burden of proof, so when you claim 270 million killed by Muslims you need to prove it and you cannot!

I don't have to answer that.

    You claimed Christians killed more.

I was watching a few days ago a piece on PBS I believe about Ireland. And it was Protestants who favored England vs Catholics who favored an Independent Ireland waging wars.

I got the impression that the peace is there, but fragile.

Booty was exactly what paid off. Plus a happy eternal afterlife.

Fundamentally we're all the same. We embrace ideologies and religions because they offer us something we need, or want, or think we need. Muslim extremists don't kill for Allah, they kill to gain a place in paradise. They kill for themselves. Convince them there's nothing to gain from the killing, they'll stop. That's what reformation of Islam should be about: reinterpretation of the texts to make violence a losing proposition. Yes, I believe it's possible.

Yes lets get back to the point of the thread, trashing Muslims whilst trying to show Christians as holier that thou!
Tell you what, why do you all just drop the religious texts written by goat herders and think for yourselves?

There's no such thing as "true Islam". Liberal elements are as valid as the Salafi schools, though not always accepted in the mainstream due to political reasons. Authoritarian rulers don't like challenges and competition. Liberal elements are gaining ground in some Muslim countries, while losing in others.

For the sake of clarity I need to make sure i understood the term "liberal elements" correctly, as those who favor a less literal interpretation of Islamic texts and a greater approach to western values. Right?

It appears that the bulk of Ireland is Protestant, not Catholic. Northern Ireland is dominated by Catholics. I got this from PBS recently.

Exactly why I'm not a Muslim.

That is how many of us came to faith in Christ.

And to correct one or two posters, the Catholics hold the smallest chunk of Ireland, North Ireland. The Protestants hold the far larger part or I guess call it Southern Ireland.
