Isn't declaring a national emergency the same as declaring martial law?

You absolutely did. You have no credibility.

You should be completely ignored by all the participants in this thread but I'm sure the modern liberals will throw an undeserved life line.

You're still ignoring the questions. Now why is that?

Actually Trump declared national emergency to grab the money. You haven't heard?

I am not a Dem, but I do know they did not vote for a Trump monument in 2016.

Why do you keep doing it if its dumb?

It does not matter who is on top of the fence, because the picture shows how easy it is to get there.

More dumbness. Can't help you out there. The picture is not the proposed fence.

Grab money? You mean using military funds during a national emergency? Other Presidents have done the same.

These suggestions are very labor-intensive. It will need a huge infusion of $ to begin to implement this.

    1. This will require a huge investment in federal employees. And what about the folks who've overstayed their visas but are otherwise productive members of society?
    2. Again, this will require a huge investment in federal employment, law enforcement and immigration courts. Again, there should be exceptions for folks who we want to keep here because they're productive or have special skills, or have even served in the military. What about merit based exceptions?
    3. Impractical. It would never get over the hurdles needed to make it an amendment to the Constitution.
    4. I'd need to know the costs vs. the benefits here.
    5. This might result in so much instability in such nations that it would be a colossal blunder. The reason that we provide aid is to save ourselves the expense of future issues/interventions.

Would you build in exceptions for talented or productive illegals, and create a path for citizenship for them?
