Netanyahu's cracking up. This is not the first time he's endangering civilian airplanes - and from what I know he's itching for a war with Iran and will do anything to provoke one. That Israelis and his own people will suffer, means nothing to him. According to one source, Iran does have atom bombs.

The plane was coming from Iran, and when Israel began attacking a Damascus suburb the Syrian air defenses went off. It was the exact time the plane was landing and had it not been for traffic control redirecting the jet to the Russian airbase, it would have been shot down.

Things seem to be serious in Syria all around, because yesterday Russian children were sent home to their relatives. Not a good sign.

"...Israeli strikes on Damascus suburbs put a civilian aircraft in serious danger and forced it to divert to Russia’s Khmeimim airbase as the Syrian air defense was activated to repel the attack, the Russian military said.

An Airbus A320 flying from Tehran to the Syrian capital was forced to make an emergency landing following an Israeli missile attack, the Russian Defense Ministry said. It added that using civilian aircraft as a “shield” is “commonplace” for Israeli Air Force pilots.

The aircraft was about to land at Damascus International Airport, but was unable do so as the Syrian air defense systems engaged the hostile targets. The jet could have found itself in the crossfire if it weren’t for the Damascus air traffic control, whose “timely actions” averted a possible disaster..."

Excuse me, I’m not seeing a problem here. Iranian and Syrian soldiers killed? That’s a good thing, not a bad thing.

“...strikes killed 23 Syrians and non-Syrian, Iran-backed fighters in the southern province of Daraa and suburbs of Damascus. It said the dead included three Iranian fighters as well as eight Syrian soldiers.”

You see no problem in Israel using civilian airplanes as shields? Do you see a problem then in a war with Iran since that's where the airplane was coming from? It was definitely a provocation to start a war, so what if an Israeli city was nuked, then what, because Iran does have atom bombs and the means to break through Israeli defenses. They're not stupid you know?

Netanyahu knows these things, so how about asking yourself why he's willing to risk Israeli lives and the state of Israel, as well as set the world on fire?

Now to play the devils advocate. Maybe the airplane had Iranian brass in it, and that's why it was put at risk. But then again, maybe it also had Russians, Americans and Europeans, whose only means of leaving Iran might have been through Damascus. We don't know?

Iran is isolated in the Middle East with few allies and and an economy crippled by sanctions.

Indeed many states which were once unequivocably against the existence of Israel prefer it to what's on offer with the Iranians.

I'm pretty much for Israel having a free hand in the middle east.
There are Israel supporters and the bad guys.

Assad, the world's greatest humanitarian. How will humanity ever survive his death? Happily, I bet.

That's how you DON'T shoot down a civilian airliner.

    Pay attention, Iran.
