It would be possible for Israel to deal with all rockets, mortars, drones, kite bombs etc thrown from Gaza and Lebanon. And quickly, safely and cheaply. The various assaults upon Israel has made it the leading technology for under- ground warfare (tunneling) underwater manned warfare, missile interceptors, electronic warfare etc.. The more this nation is attacked the stronger it becomes.

not sure where you get your figures from, but Israel gets only a small portion of the total foreign aid bill from the USA. Worse, this money isn't a gift like it is for places like Egypt and Afghanistan - it involves Israel spending money on American companies. And in return America gets a lot back because the Jews are super smart people.

I read somewhere that that's what we Aussies call a furphy - non factual. Just say'n, might be wrong. But I think the "polish" doesn't have much effect due to the wavelength of the laser. But you do have to hold a steady beam as time is important. Wonder if you could "tunnel" through the atmosphere with a laser, heat and dissolve some of the object, and use the tunnel to direct an electron beam or particle beam into the target? Something like this will have to happen - otherwise the Arab nations will continue to build more missiles to target Israel.
Your list puts Israel second in total aid. Their total aid is more than all 5 the top economic assistance aid recipients and it is almost larger than the next three nations that receive military assistance. How is that “only a small portion”.
I am guessing - 1 - America gets big bang for its buck as Israel supports American technology 2 - America has deep attachments to Israel via Judea Christian roots 3 - Israel is America's ally with the most enemies.
Not strictly religion - more a religious cultural heritage. Israel resonates as the Promised Land, the Holy Land, and the return of the Jews to that land is redolent with American's belief about the bible. And on the other hand - Israel is an ally, like us Aussies. Only, it's in more strife than Aussies. And its enemies, Islamism, is our deadly enemy too.
That literally just religion, aid because they are Jewish and aid because they are against Islam. Which still doesn’t negate that they receive close to the largest amount of taxpayer aid of any other nation on Earth, including ones we are attempting to rebuild that we invaded on false pretenses.
Like all things, yes and no. My take is that America supported the creation of Israel in much the same way as the Soviet Union supported it - and did nothing after that. America did not arm Israel in its war of Independence, or even support her leading up to the Six Day War...... until the USSR got involved. And this was repeated in the 1973 war when Russia went on nuclear alert. Islamism really became a "thing" with Americans after 911. It's widely understood that without America's involvement, Israel's treatment of the Palestinians would be harsher - and Israel and Iran would have gone to war. And of course, America helps keep Egypt out of the fray through aid.
The problem is - it's hard to tell WHICH HOUSE. Destroying them all creates the very martyrs that Hezbollah and the Islamists want.
