It is beginning to look like the DOJ cannot reform itself.

“I like and respect Bill Barr,” Comey said after leaving a day-long congressional hearing on Capitol Hill. “I know he’s an institutionalist who cares deeply about the integrity of the Justice Department.”

“Bill Barr is a talented person who was a good attorney general the first time. I liked him very much then and I think he’ll serve the Justice Department well,” said Comey."

I'm not seeing the connection between the title and the body of this OP.

Comey is crooked, but has not had to face a grand jury.
Barr does not seem to be inclined, or able to really clean up the DOJ/FBI.

This is nothing new and I doubt the entrenched bureaucratic terror will not end until the end of the empire.

Or maybe he hasn't done anything wrong, but you have been spoon-fed a bunch of lies for so long from RW conspiracy sites that you simply know he is guilty. Of something.

I think a better way to say this is that it's time to replace Washington DC.

The tide has started to turn on Barr. When he was nominated and confirmed, the Trump supporters thought he was going to do all the things that Sessions didn't. Before long, Comey, H Clinton, Strzok, Page, Clapper etc. etc. etc. were going to be behind bars.

Now that the reality is setting in - the reality that he isn't going to do any of the things they were expecting - they are turning against him.

What they will never believe is that his lack of action is because there is no "there" there.

Oh, he's done plenty wrong. Just because he declined the first charge doesn't mean he can't still be charged. They want him on FISA abuse which will put him in jail for a long time. If they add all the lesser charges then, it will be more added on. Obama weaponized the DOJ under Holder and Holder did the same to the FBI. If you worked for Obama, DOJ should fire them. This is only the beginning for all those who will be charged. Slaps on the wrists just will NOT suffice. These corrupt people must be punished for what they have done from the top down. Howowitz, Durham, et al are working on it because it was so pervasive. Obama was a piece of work...

And so far the evidence for all of this is the lack of any charges lol

I think all of this goes to show that these people ds and rs know how to use the system to avoid technical guilt for the things we know they did.

I would hope there is more to come. "floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee" - Mohamad Ali, would be my hope for Barr. On the other hand, he might be just another Washington bureaucrat protecting his own.

I have less faith in anything we get from Horowitz ….

"Ken Starr: IG Report Will Show How Trump Probe Began And The "House Of Cards" Will Collapse." It might but that doesn't mean anyone is going to be indicted.

Oh look, another Trump troll wants to “reform” the FBI into a political weapon used to prosecute political opponents. Is part of the plan to rename it the “Stasi,” too?

Have you considered the possibility that the RW blogs you rely on are not reliable?

Are you saying that Comey did not get a criminal referral to the DOJ?

Sometimes, I just point to the idea that government, in so many ways is schizophrenic.. The many faces of Eve doesn't begin to describe the multiple conflicts of interest that government itself, inherently attempts to cope with within it's own structures. I suppose there are several being discussed here. The hope to contain the extent of the rot within the organizations might be top of mind given the influence that actually has on public credibility in those institutions. I'm not excusing Barr or anyone else for that matter, just pointing it out. The other more insidious dynamic is the effect of organizational protection then has within the structure of government, namely that organizations also compete for funding, meaning public credibility also has an effect on how successful those organizations within government are in procuring funding.

This is the dynamic that is most concerning, to me. The justification syndrome that then whitewashes over actual corruption because of the inherent embarrassment that it creates, and the corresponding damage it does to the public trust, which then makes those organizations identified as being corrupt unable to compete for the federal spigot of money. For those who haven't played with government or their organizations, this might be new info for you folks. But this dynamic is neither new, nor extraordinary. These conflicts are deeply integral in how these organizations are run, managed, and marketed to us.

I would like to hold out hope that Barr makes the determination that it is more plausible that charging and prosecuting those who have so remarkably abused their positions of trust and power to otherwise execute their tyranny on the rest of us, and still find it within his ability to present those corruption remediations as enhancing the organizational public trust vs being vilified. Time will show us though. Of course the ineffective congress will continue to thrash around looking for anyway to distract from this important work, and their lack of willingness to actually right it.

You may be right. Some things never change.

"FBI reports on Ralph Abernathy, Coretta King, Seymour Hersh, Sammy Davis, Jr., Cesar Chavez, and others we're transmitted in thousands of dispatches sent to the Justice Department and fed into IDIU computers for storage and analysis. The FBI and the Justice Department provided information to the IRS for its "enemies project." The FBI sent its information to the CIA, the Secret Service, and Military Intelligence. They in turn, sent information to the bureau. By 1972, the intelligence agencies of the government, with the FBI at the center, had placed the political left and a large part of the Democratic party under surveillance."

Or something like no one cared enough to have a grand jury investigate whether or not Comey committed a crime after the IG's referral.

"Rod Rosenstein slams James Comey as 'partisan pundit'
The Justice Department will not prosecute fired FBI Director James Comey for leaking memos following a referral from the department’s inspector general, according to a report Thursday. ...

Comey wrote memos documenting his conversations with President Trump in the days leading up to his firing, when he alleged that the commander-in-chief had urged him to take it easy on former national security director Mike Flynn, who was later prosecuted for lying to the FBI.

The former top G-man passed the memos to a friend, who gave them to the New York Times, a move he admitted during congressional testimony."
