Everyone wants to preserve their way of life, and they have every right to do so. No one should infringe on the right of others to retain their heritage, language and anything else that makes them what they are - unless it harms and hinders the rights of others. Of course everyone believes their own standards and the culture that made them is better than that of others. This though isn't nationalism, it's patriotism.

Nationalism is supremacism, and the belief that others are lesser beings because they lack the same standards, values and what not. They usually resort to thuggery and genocide to sustain their false premises. Hitler's thousand year reich didn't last very long now did it? The destruction though was immense.

Lenin's one to talk. His own chauvinism led to the murder of 25 million Christians and the burning of 60,000 churches, many with people inside. It was the greatest martyrdom of Christians since the first 300 hundred years. I don't know if we reached that amount in this past decade, but I do know that the killings of Christians have averaged about 300 a day.

What happened to Navalny was a false flag attack to kill him as an excuse to blame Putin, since he was useless to the political party he represented. His following was about 3%, so the propaganda benefit of blaming Putin for his death was worth more to his party than his life. It's the same situation with the Skripals and all the other Russians being poisoned in Britain.

The most likely scenario with the Skripals is that he and his daughter were poisoned by the MI6. Julia's boyfriend and his mother were in Russian Intelligence and they could have used her to gather intelligence from her father. They could also use their death to blame Russia. Like everything else Russia has been accused of, they have never presented proof. It's called: 'Strategic ambiguity'.

I have no doubt that the special cup with a closed top that Vladimir Putin used recently at a meeting, was to protect him from poison. I recall reading years ago that when he visited London he had brought his own bottled water. I know the Russian tax evaders who ran to London are panicky with the Skripal poisonings, and have been negotiating a return to Russia. Vladimir Putin said he could care less if they returned, but he wants the money back.

The protests are among the young who don't recall the criminality and theft of Russia's assets during the American Yeltsin years when their parents were starving. So giving them some money to protest does work - as it did with the ones in Maidan. But Putin is not cowardly like Yanukovich, who wouldn't allow his guards to shoot back when they were being butchered and burned by the militants, so what worked then will not work in Russia.

I'm Orthodox and have the greatest respect for the Russian Church, so what you said isn't worth a reply. Anyway Russia recognizes only the 5 original faiths such as: The Greek Orthodox faith, the Roman Catholic faith, Islam, Buddhism, and Orthodox Judaism. It does not recognize the million and one faiths and cults that have been popping up over the years. They have had enough problems with cults. I'm sure there are Anglican and Lutheran churches in Russia since the beliefs are basically the same - if not the traditions, and foreign princesses with the exception of the Tsarina were not obligated to convert.

I believe there are also Baptist churches, probably to serve foreign dignitaries, but that would be about it. Any faith other than the original 5 must have special permission.

Washington's intent has always been to break up Russia since it controls 30% of the world natural resources and the liberal new world order/government cannot exist without it.. They managed pulling the former Catholic countries such as Poland, Czechoslavakia, etc. away from Russia since they had embedded animosities that went back centuries. But it did not work with the Orthodox or the Muslim countries. With Ukraine, no doubt under American auspices at the time, wouldn't allow the East and South of the country to hold separate referendums.

When Vladimir Putin told Bush that CIA agents were working with the terrorists in Chechnya to break it away from Russia, Bush responded that; 'we can do whatever we want'.

The people who opposed the US position in WWII, except for principled pacifists, were all on the Far Right.
The mindless position that you should automatically enthusiastically support any war waged by the government of your country makes traitors out of the brave Germans who helped the Allies, and the brave Russians and East Europeans who helped the West.
