Sound familiar? The western worlds citizens are revolting against globalist progressive liberal policies. Embracing nationalism. The article has a thorough breakdown of the voting %s

    Last place? Ruling leftist party

Projections indicate that around 50% of voters opted for populist or right-wing parties. As ballots continued to be tallied on Monday, the anti-establishment Five Star Movement (M5S) looked set to become the largest single party in parliament with about 32% of the vote, according to Italy's Interior Ministry, although it will not have enough seats for an outright majority.

The Trump effect is in Europe. The populist Savina who won, has never held public office. He and his supporters are anti immigrant and anti E.U. He said he will deport 150,000 immigrants. They have had enough. The other populist that won is anti E.U. Bravissimo Italy!

Oops the leftist media is on the warpath and yep you guessed it... THE RUSSIANS DID IT

    Hahaha

There has been a similar propaganda drive in Italy, led by the Kremlin-owned radio station Sputnik, whose “news specials” included claims such as: “In 2065, quota immigrants in Italy could exceed 40 per cent of total population.” But Moscow look set to succeed in Italy in what it failed to achieve with Marine Le Pen, Geert Wilders or the populist right in Germany: the aim of having allies in the heart of government, even without such efforts.

I really detest the leftists that refuse to learn from these defeats. It only hurts the left when we pretend that there was nothing we could have done.

My understanding is the Italians are upset at the African immigrants who are destroying their way of life.

How do you put lipstick on that pig?

For one thing, you need to shift the frame of reference on the material problem. Immigrants are a scapegoat. You frame the issue as class warfare, tell them the reason their lives suck isn't the immigrant crisis the media tells you to blame

The left lost interest in class warfare a long time ago. The working class is inherently conservative, it turns out.

This is why the left is importing a new working class to replace the unsatisfactory old one. One that they can manipulate with identity politics.

The working class has historically been revolutionary. It's only recently that America has propagandized that out

I'm saying that there's no migrant crisis. It's a media sensation grounded in fantasy, supported with occasional real life data points.

No, that's what facts do. 700,000 facts, to be precise.

This was a huge victory for The League. Formally The Northern League, they've sought to spread their word down bellow. And with only 3% of the vote in the Campagna region, they got 18% overall, up from just 4% five years ago. And that Campagna vote is so low it can only grow. If they can just maintain their presence up north they will romp home next time, maybe 25%. Maybe more.

The victory and loss for M5S and PD respectively have been exaggerated. M5S added 25%, PD lost 25%. Good / bad. But La Lega totally crushed it.

In other news, a real anti-immigration party, Casapound, grew a lot but from a very low base.

La Lega has some really hard anti-immigration policies. The left was crushed. The tide really has turned.

The anti-immigration movement is begging the ruling class to **** on their collective faces. "we can save you from neoliberalism, we can bring back the security of fordism, we promise we'll undo the globalization we did for our own profits, you just have to blame the filthy immigrants and leftists and give us more power". Disgusting and below respect.

Let me add what I've always thought: it'll be Italy that ultimately destroys the EU. Whatever we Brits do, it's always "oh, the British are always difficult". But Italy is on the European content, has been an otherwise compliant partner and is a powerhouse if troubled economy. When Italy goes - and it will, La Lega and M5S are both anti-EU - the EU will fall.

Been tried by said **** ups. Doesn't work.
Immigration is a class issue. Backing immigration puts you at odds with the working class.
All you do by backing it is declare yourself to be their enemy.

    That is why you fail.

The League's immigration proposals are significant:

    https://www.money.it/programma-elettorale-Lega-Nord-Salvini-elezioni-2018?

"A block on immigrant boat landings and assisted removal.

    Repatriation of all illegals."

Assisted removal is basically repatriation upon arrival, with help given to pregnant women and I suppose other humanitarian cases, but with an absolute objective of sending them back to Libya.

They're not just proposing stopping the flood. They're actually talking about reducing it.

The media also tells us big government isn't a threat to our freedom. So it's good to be skeptical about the media's message.
