    It's A Conspiracy

    I Tell ya.

    Corona Virus effects
To date it is reported that Corona Virus has a 2 - 3% Mortality

    Mortality, going down every day.
That means you have at least a 97% chance of surviving Corona Virus infection.

Okay so stores experienced a run on "toilet paper"

Today my local neighborhood Ralph / Kroger store was mostly EMPTY.
Milk? Forget any brand or sort of milk. Hoarding milk? Not hardly!

A benefit of food shortages to retailers is
Higher Prices when shelves are full, again.

And "we" are so thankful

My empty grocery store is evidence of food retailer games and not Corona Virus.
We will be so thankful to witness full shelves again we will gladly pay more.

    GOT INFLATION?

Supermarkets here are doing the best they can in difficult circumstances caused mainly by selfish people buying far more than they need. Zero evidence of prices going up as a result.
In fact, the supermarkets are coming out of this looking very good and they have all started rationing customers to 2 or 3 units per customer.
Staff are working hard and some are having to cope with grumpy self-entitled customers who think that they should be able to buy as much as they want.
God bless them, they are putting themselves at risk of contracting the virus as supermarkets are the only places you now find large groups of people.

    You poor, indoctrinated fool. :(

And That Is What "they" Wish You To Believe.

    Why stockpile bananas?
My grocery store always has bananas. Or did.
    It is NOT hoarding bananas.
Something else is "in play" !

    It's a conspiracy I tell ya!

Unless you can tell me where the bananas are.

It's a bad flu alright but is it worth destroying the entire country over? Mass hysteria is never a good thing.

You think the supermarkets are holding back stocks to inflate prices?
    You poor conspiracy theory fool.
You think they are hiding the toilet paper for nefarious purposes?
If anyone is to blame here it is the media with their non-stop reporting on empty shelves scaring selfish consumers into panic buying.

    Think one minute

Bananas are sweet and easily edible with no preparation. Eggplants and zucchinis will usually make you sick even when prepared by experts

I had a gf who should have had a site on Pornhub where she ate a banana. I never heard of a girl being photoed eating a zucchini and I hope I never do.

And finally the banana is the goto vegetable of choice. (It's not a fruit) to show uncounted hs students how to put on a condom, (which most of them could do better than the teacher)

Yet the eggplant is the manhood emoji.

    So again.....Think.

What incentive would you give me for eating one M&M? Keeping my job, providing for my family, not watching my life savings crater? It's a bad flu bro but life goes on.

    Not The Supermarket.

The means of food to the supermarkets.
    Bananas are still plentiful.

Why are there no bananas at my little n'hood Ralph's/Kroger?
IT'S THE SUPPLY SYSTEM TO THE LOCAL MARKET.
Manufactured shortages ala gasoline crisis and lines.
Coordinated, manufactured shortages that deserve a Congressional Investigation
if not by the Attorney General as truly befits the role of the AG.

    GET IT OR NOT.
Why a shortage of bananas at my grocery store?
And not just bananas but, "everything".

These shortages are "manufactured" not totally hoarding.

    Yes / No
There is no shortage of bananas. Is there?
What are you going to do with hoarded "bananas"?

READ ME NOW AND BELIEVE ME LATER
When bananas are as available as in the before time
    they will cost more!

And we will be thankful. As "they" profit
via investment in shortages and associated loss!
    Feeling like a victim yet?

It isn't a flu virus. We have treatments for influenza, even vaccines, but this virus is new to human populations, there is no treatment, no cure, and no vaccine. It is extremely contagious and is spreading rapidly.

Wrong answer - it is a flu virus. A nasty one but it's in the same class as the corona virus that causes the common cold. Have you heard of a cure for the common cold? No you haven't it mutates many times and comes back the next year stronger. And may I add it's not Trump's fault.

Do a google search on how many people die from from the common flu every year flu and get back to me.

Bananas go bad within a week. So no hoarding of this fruit.

So what gives . No meat to be found in the two grocers the wife went to today. Glad my freezer is full of venison .

Of course thidthis virus may have didrupyed the supply chain for bananas.

TIL eggplants and zucchinis must be prepared by "experts" in order to be edible. Learn something "interesting" every day on PF.

Random factoids, bananas 1. are indeed freezable (peeled first), 2. are easy fruits for lazy parents to give children who "need some fruits" compared to alternatives, 3. aren't very good fruits generally due to high sugar compared to alternatives, are 4. deceptively "cheap/expensive" compared to other better choices, finally as the staple "good enough/cheap enough/caloric dense" kids meal of banana peanut butter sandwiches.

Why milk? several reasons, a "fake" health food for ignorant people scared into being more conscientious than soda, cheap, necessary with all the cereal/carb/grain junk/processed flour ignorant people hoard also.

On the contrary. The flu is not a type of coronavirus, but the common cold is.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coronavirus

The flu is an influenza virus, a completely different classification.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Influenza

Where did I blame Trump for COVID-19? Inept handling of the outbreak lies at the Trump administration's door, but try not to pull words out of my keyboard. So annoying.

And yes, I know how many sicken and die from one strain of influenza or another every year. It's why I get a flu shot every October, since 1998. In those 22 years, I've had the flu twice, only because a new strain not covered by the vaccine was spreading.

Perhaps you should take your own advice and google these types of diseases. Just because some of the symptoms are similar doesn't make flu and coronavirus the same.

It would help if people would look things up before posting the misinformation they get from Fox News.
