"It's a spectacle, and candidly, it's juvenile," Corker said. "The whole thing is juvenile."

This kind of thinking is not new.

I'm sure these guy's granparents yelled at their radios because CBS had the temerity to bring Hitler into their living rooms instead of the anti semetic and isolationist rantings of Charles Lindberg. Of course, they really hated CBS for taking on their demogogue of the time, Joe McCarthy. And, today, they hate the liberal press for pretty much the same thing.

I worry that we should be worried that our government has acquired many of the properties of a reality TV show perhaps called Republicans v Democrats: The Cage Match, where the focus is on who is winning and who is losing, complete with strike by strike commentary rather than developing an understanding of what is the actual question, followed by a discussion of the best possible solutions under the circumstances. Take border security. While making for a more entertaining TV show, it seems overly simple to frame the question as ‘build a wall’ or ‘be in favor of an open border with no security’. There’s an old (and pretty good) country saying that “good fences make good neighbors”, which partial statement many have heard, but there is a second part to that saying that is “and that fence has gates with mutually understood rules for passing through.” So given a spectrum of border crossing barriers ranging from a solid physical wall to a virtual and technical barrier, the question on which we (now) need to focus instead is “what is the best use of tax payers’ money to ensure that people who cross into the US have our permission, that a fair and efficient mechanism exists for screening and processing those requests for permission, that we retain a good chance of blocking entry of the small percentage of malignant applicants, and that the benefits and effects of the overall mechanism are generally acceptable”?

Carrying his water? Unlike Washington, I simply want to resolve the mess. And the easiest solution was to pass the bill that he asked for. The bill that doesn't even result in a significant increase in GDP spending. But no, no one wants to work with the President. And though you're happy about that, history will record the pathetic pettiness and cowardliness that describes these Americans.

I don't think a singular vote is a voice. I've never thought that and never will think that. The only ones with a voice are legitimately organized political organizations and members of our parliament(Congress). The rest of us? Are glorified slaves.

Since we the people lack control over our government or representatives, I'd love nothing more than for the voting numbers(which are poor anyway by first world standards) to continue dropping. If we're not going to vote third party, then don't vote at all.

Because Liberals always were the bastion of truth and liberty right? Except, you're the furthest thing from it. Eight years ago, you gave us the dictatorial health bill(that was also unpopular by a 55-45 count.) and told us to suck it because you had the votes and mandate. For those eight years, we suffered under the vice of the dictatorship and then you had the gall to complain about Republicans for the negative results of said tyranny.

It was the worst bill in the history of our nation. Comparatively, Trump wants his "wall". Where the comparison exists, is that there's no comparison. It won't harm a single American. The taxpayer money is a much smaller cost in nominal and total amounts than the dictatorship bill.

So what the Liberals are saying is that they can spend money to try and dictate consuming choices by fellow Americans, but they can't be bothered to spend for our collective defense. That, they say is a bridge too far.

CBS is a large corporation. So what? Being large does not equate to honesty and integrity. If anything, size and wealth mean corruption.

The margin in the popular vote in California between Trump and Hilary exceeded the national margin. Remove just the corrupt lunatic state of California and Trump wins the popular vote.

But that's not the contest. The contest is national and electoral. And Trump won. Hilary lost. Period.

LOL, cry your crocodile tears chicken little, nobody is fooled. None of those extremely overpaid nonessential govt workers who are on a paid vacation are suffering.

If you feel so bad for them, give them your paycheck. If you have a paycheck, we know how progs typically just want to spend other peoples money.

Yeah, if you had even a shred of evidence to back up the claims that you made up, people might assign you the least bit of credibility.

But since obscure trash blogs and equally obsure right wing talk radio does you thinking for you, or, as in this case, you just make it up and pretend it's fact, that's not likely to happen.

I will believe democrats are not cheating when we make it impossible for them to cheat

And right now they have plenty of means, motive and opportunity
