It's not the worst thing in the world for Repubs to wave their arms in the air

while hypocritically complaining about the national debt. It has come to be expected. At least when they don't control the government. During times when they do, nothing is done about the deficit. They adopt Shooter Dick's mantra, "deficits don't matter."

It's not even the worst thing in the world when the Craziest factions of their caucus hold press conferences days after a deal on raising the debt ceiling has been brokered to declare no one should vote for the bill. Hoping they will not be blamed for the ensuing financial calamity should the bill not pass.

The worst thing in the world is the voters in the districts where the Crazy come from do not, pitch forks in hand, go to the offices of the Crazy to protest their reckless idiocy. That they do not relish the opportunity to vote the Crazy out of office at the earliest possible date. That they sent fools like Gosar, Gaetz, Greene, Comer, Jordan, and Boebert to Congress in the first place while looking forward to doing so again.

Reps don't care about irresponsible spending any more than dems care about the poor or the environment.

Their respective track records say otherwise. But me thinks you missed the real point of the post.

I agreed with you. The sales pitch does not match the product once the sale is made. Once they are in power, they spend like thieves with stolen credit cards, just like Democrats.

Just like Dems claiming to care about the poor until they are in control. I live in the bluest part of the bluest state and you cannot make an honest case that Dem control combined with high taxes equals a higher quality of life for the less fortunate. CA also has some of the most toxic cities.

    Results speak for themselves.

I do enjoy the hyperventilation of folks on the left who believe that if you even remotely agree that government has an obligation to do something on behalf of the public, that it is an open checkbook that has no governance on their willingness to bankrupt everyone else around them in the process...

Trying to make the generalized assertion that Dems neither care about the poor or the environment, despite their legislative record to the contrary, is.....as the saying goes..........a fool's errand.

You are nothing if not reliably insular...well, and puerile... I think there might be quite a long list.

Which says nothing about the actual observation being entirely accurate. Liberal folks don't care that their grand schemes are unsupportable financial messes. It makes them feelz and that's all that really matters, isn't it... not a question.

Actual results show otherwise. CA leads the nation in poverty in spite of abundant resources, high taxes, and dem control. San Francisco has more homeless than any other state in the nation. The product does not match the Dems sales pitch once the sale is made.

You are right about Republicans, but are not pointing with clean hands.

    Results speak for themselves.

If that is true then why is it that the largest Republican run city is way, way down the list of most populated? Why is that?

How can it be the largest if the population is way down?

Good to see you making use of a thesaurus. But insular, hardly. I get a healthy dose of your nonsense, and the nonsense of other conservative posters, quite often. I'm well aware of their intellectual bankruptcy.
Congrats on including an example of a puerile post.........."Liberal folks don't care that their grand schemes are unsupportable financial messes." Well done.

You might want to put that big, bad, broad brush away. Would save you from splattering all over the place with total disregard for an entire group of people.

Because Republicans don't run any large cities in the US. (can't believe I have to explain that)

You blame others, (you folks) for your choice to stereotype?

    Cute.

You said "if that is true, then why" as if it changes the fact that CA leads the nation on poverty in spite of having abundant resources, high taxes, and Dem control. Im not here to defend republicans. They are not much better.

Yeah, you use this argument all the time.
You won't defend Republicans because they are worse. A lot worse.

Not based on actual results. While both are awful, dems are just a little worse based on actual results.

Actual results based on what? Compared to what? Not Republicans, that's for sure.

California leads the nation in poverty in spite of abundant resources, high taxes, and dem control. The sales pitch does not match the product after the sale is made.

I am happy to be in a discussion on which party is worse, instead of the usual "my party is great" discussion. At least we agree that both are awful.

Yet, despite your complaints, California is often listed as one of the best quality of life states.
