Over 1.6 million signatures has been verified. It's now official. Will Democrats now jump into the race against Newsom or stand united?

Officials will give 30 days for people to withdraw signatures but with over 2.1 million signatures received and more to be verified it's a done deal.

The election will take place this fall in November I believe.

Honestly Republicans are failing to make a dent on Gavin Newsom and no Democrats want to split the vote so they won't run.

I'm confident Gavin Newsome will finish out his term. Why? Because there are more Democrats in California than Republicans.
The people who collected all those signatures wasted their time and money.

Democrats running don't split the vote. There are two different votes:
    i) Recall Newsom. If Newsom wins this, it's over.
    ii) Vote for Governor.
If Newsom loses i) whoever wins ii) is Gov.

The GOP has 3 major candidates running which would pose the vote split problem if any major Democrat was running, but, since they aren't, if Newsome loses the recall, whichever Republican has the most votes will win.

Newsom seemed to be coasting into victory until he started getting stupid with ending his rule by emergency degree a power he appears to have no plans on relinquishing.

“STRETCHING STATE LAW SO FAR HE DESERVES AN OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL IN GYMNASTICS:” California Governor Gavin Newsom is Trying to Pull Off a Shocking Pandemic Power Grab.

We are clearly here. What CA is currently experiencing is well within the means of standard constitutional government. Newsom is a liar.
Throw his lying cheating ass out.

Republicans have enough votes to call for a recall, but not enough to win an election

    Wait!
How over taxed the people of California
    paying for homeless person's decision
I Want To Live In San Francisco or Santa Monica / Venice beach

    It will happen
    as it should.
Remember Prop 13 and all the efforts to castrate it!

    The California Democrats voter rebellion
Yes to support Homeless & families
No to the zip code of their desires.

    Just common sense.
The Democratic Party plantation system is well
    embedded as "normal".
    It requires revisions!
At such time, California has a choice
as happened with Reagan & State hospitals.

The Democrats might demonstrate some wisdom & understanding
WORKING PEOPLE of California are economically stressed
    by such liberal grandiosity
    Tax Silicon Valley!

It is iffy. He has been making deals with the public unions, and they do most of the ballot harvesting, but the rank and file is not all on board.
The general feeling in California is one of malaise, fear for one’s safety, and on again, off again decrees of COVID closures and restrictions from “the mountain”. Inflation is being felt in the pocket book and adds to the stark truth about any dreams about affordable housing. Families are seeing their kids move out of states for housing.

Gavin Newsome will finish out his term. If I'm wrong about this, I will come back and admit my mistake.
P.S. California is STILL a good place to live. Every state has challenges right now with COVID19, the economy, etc.

Big deal, we're talkin' California here, they'll just swap out a Democrat idiot for a Democrat moron.....oh well, at least 2.1 million people had the opportunity to show their displeasure with the status quo.

Interestingly, the R’s have a good shot at it. No democrat dare be placed on the alternate governor list, so that leaves only a narrowly interesting recall with two or three strong republicans against an unpopular governor. What Newsom does have going for him that is priceless is that the deals he is making with public unions today, will pay off with ballot harvesting during the recall. Ballots will still be mailed out as junk mail, so the dead and moved may or may not be players, depending on your view.

The Sec of State is trying to slow roll the recall, but he will push it into the fire season. That will hurt.

If I were to bet, I’d bet on Newsom. Public unions run the electoral system in California.

I don’t think Newsom is a good governor, don’t think he’s the worst that Cali has had. I’m just surprised that the recall got enough signatures in the first place.
After it’s all said and done, I’m guessing Newsom will still be governor.

The majority is restless and dissatisfied and agrees they want "someone else" rather than Newsom.

But this majority being able to agree on exactly who this "someone else" will be will be a lot more difficult.
It's very likely when the vote comes back, Newsom might be the candidate with the most votes again.

Let's put it this way. He's a very subpar governor. This guy is an opportunist, kind of manipulatively pandering to the Progressive Left while actually not letting things get too out of control.
But by California standards these days, it would be possible to get a governor a lot more whacky than Newsom.

Conservatives might extremely reluctantly support him (or just not put up opposition against him) knowing that there is no chance a conservative could get elected and he is the least Left of the plausible candidates that have any realistic chance of election.

Basically no one really likes him, but he represents relative stability and someone who is not too incompetent, by California standards.

California is quickly becoming a third world country unto itself.

And just like in third world countries, the socioeconomic castes are becoming more defined and polarized, I e. the super wealthy, and the peasants.

The middle class is dying, picking up stakes and leaving - unfortunately, they are taking their poisonous, leftist beliefs with them to greener pastures, where they can kill everything that grows there too.

California is really a terrible place. I'll never go back.

Yes, he'll win if he keeps covid down in the state. In a matter of weeks, states with low vaccination rates are going to have hospitals ICUs overflowing with sick covid patients on ventilators. Then the dying will set in.

If Newsome keeps the numbers down, he'll be vindicated.

I, too, left California. The middle class is splitting apart. Some are doing knowledge work for highly profitable employers, and some are in lower-skill work that doesn't allow the employee to shine. They're interchangeable parts whose wages are often dropping in real terms.

A lot of people are growing wealthy because of spiraling asset values. It's a massive wealth transfer produced by government policies. Those with high wages can get in on buying assets, especially real estate. Renters in California? Screwed if they're middle class. They're hamsters running on the "no home" wheel.

Oregon is one place Californians head. Want heat? Southern and Eastern Oregon, though the east area can get cold in winter. Corvallis and Eugene are home to big colleges. Portland to Eugene is filling in, but there is still some space. LA area where I grew up? Open space gone. Napa where I went part-time after leaving LA. Crowded and expensive. I miss the restaurants, however. Then there's the Oregon Coast.
