The fricking economy would have recovered regardless of Obama.

And the economy might have recovered faster if it wasn't for ObamaCare and his tons of new taxes and regulations.

Cutting taxes, cutting regulations and cutting spending even more works every single time it's tried.

Get the fricking government out of my wallet, out of my gun safe and off of the neck of the citizen.

Top Republican admits the GOP tax bill was mostly a lie
Rep. Brady was one of the authors of the tax bill.

    Ha ha
Do you know why Obamacare was rushed through ?
Over 90% of the millions who lost their jobs were MIDDLE CLASS. These were Americans who also lost their health insurance. Obamacare was for them, not just the working poor who already have Medicaid and the old who already had Medicare. You anti American pro Russian interference types like to see the middle class without insurance ?

The reason it was rushed through is because the Democrats where in charge of the house, senate and WH.

We should never give the Democrats that much power ever again.

Ahh, but remember that the "boot strap" mentality or ethic only applied if you were NOT deemed "less than human" (i.e., black, native folk, Asians). Socialism has always existed in America, but for the "business class" ... which has now morphed into laws that give corporations the same "rights" as individual human beings. The second the working class got a taste of that type of socialism, all hell breaks loose. What kills me is that the fools that keep voting for reaganomics hoping that they will be the one of the few who benefits from it. Sad.

    CIVICS AND THE SUB-PRIME MESS

You are playing with words, which is unacceptable. The above shows that you haven't the foggiest notion of what "socialism" is.

It's the possession by the state of all the means of production. Which hardly typifies the US.

So, what IS the US? It is a country in which BigMoney is employed to manipulate a voting system that has existed fro two-hundred years. And this they DON'T TEACH IN HIGH-SCHOOL CIVICS CLASS!

How does that happen? Here's how:
*In the presidential election an "Electoral College" decides amongst the popular-vote who the majority winner is. And then it ALLOCATES ALL ITS VOTES TO THAT WINNER! Meaning quite simply that
the rest of those poor idiots who voted for the OTHER CANDIDATE have had their votes nullified! (Thrown away, destroyed, invalidated, not counted!)
*In the state elections for the National Legislature,
voting precincts are arranged so as to favor one or the other candidate (in a basically two-party voting system).

And this has been going on for more than two hundred years!

Wakey, wakey, Uncle Sam ... !

What is sad is the manner in which Americans go into a voting booth and decide who should run the country almost purely by means of what is happening in the economy.

Look, having a decent job is important. Very important! But, the reason - for instance - that the Great Recession happened was not because of bad-management by the Executive. It was because the the Federal Government had no law requiring it to assure that
banks were only offering bonafide loans to bonafide candidates. (Which is why that episode in our economic history is called the SubPrime Mortgage Crisis.)

And yet, when Obama took office, he stopped dead the exploding unemployment rate (then at 10%) and had Congress spend ARRA-money (around $850B) to reinvigorate Demand. And what did he get for a reward in the 2010 midterms?

    The Dems lost the HofR,
and the Replicants REFUSED TO PASS any further stimulus-spending to continue invigoration of Demand (in order to sink Obama in the 2011 election). Didn't work did it!

From 2009 to 2014 NO FURTHER JOBS WERE CREATED IN THE ECONOMY. (And if no one believes that, then see the Bureau of Labor Statistics historical infographic "Employment to Population Ratio"
    here!)

And that stagnation lasted until the economy started its recovery - ALL BY ITSELF in 2014 (see the E-to-PR chart linked above) -
18-months before Donald Dork announced his run for the presidency on June 16th, 2015!

Anyone who thinks Donald Dork deserves the merit for "recovering the economy" all-by-himself is a damn fool ignoring the factual evidence ... !

    Yes!

The "bottom" month of the Employment to Population Ratio occurred in October 2013 (see here) during Obama's tenure. From there - and all by itself - the country increased jobs "naturally" from Consumer Demand. (With the usual Blah, Blah, Blah at the time from the Replicants regarding Wasteful Spending to refuse any budgeted-expansion in government expenditures!)

But, MIRACULOUSLY, we hear nothing more about Wasteful Spending now that Donald Dork is PotUS! And the incremental increase in the DoD expenditure was a very wholesome $61B or 10% of its budget! (For his pals in business who will finance his next election to office! Note that the DoD-budget is by far the largest of any in Federal discretionary spending. See here!)

    Curious, dontcha-think?

The National Budget has two components. Discretionary and Non-Discretionary expenditures. That breakdown between the two looks like this:
You will note that the US in terms of Mandatory Spending, the breakdown was this:
*Social Security was by far the biggest expense at $1.102 trillion.
*Medicare was next at $679 billion, followed by Medicaid at $418 billion.

So, yes, I am suggesting that Medicare/Medicaid be expanded to include full-coverage of Medical Care expenditures. And the purpose will be to spend the money on a National Healthcare Service at lower costs than Privatized Healthcare.

To finance that change, I am suggesting that the DoD budget be cut in half, down to $300B and other half relegated to much lower-cost National Health Care; which means both hospitals and doctors/nurses,/etc. who work as government employees because their educational formation was subsidized by the Federal Government.

Today, your GP earns $200k a year. I suggest that:
    - The government subvention student educational fees (in state post-secondary universities) of key parts of the medical profession*.
    - For which upon graduation they are obliged to work at a government provided healthcare medical institution for a period of 10/15 years** at a salary of one half that of the profession today (that is, around $100K**).

*Yes, this will be difficult to implement on a national basis. But, we have to start elsewhere. Doctors are like teachers. They are providing a National Service to fellow citizens!
**In Europe, of which all countries have a National Healthcare System, doctors in the system earn from $90 to $150K depending upon the country.

I said..."Cutting taxes, cutting regulations and cutting spending even more works every single time it's tried."

The problem is that there has NEVER been a spending cut.

Cutting taxes and cutting spending even more works every time it's tried.

It hasn’t ever worked any time it’s been tried. All that happens is deficits and debt EXPLODE, and the wealth gap widens exponentially.

That's because we have never cut spending.

Even if we cut spending it still wouldn’t work. If republicans had any understanding of economics, they would quit doing this nonsense.

Yes it would. It works every time people try in their own households and it would work at the government level also.

    It wouldn’t.
Comparing personal household finances to government spending is like comparing apples to space stations.
