the whole Denver team looked pathetic against Detroit. But, as much as I like Tebow he did not rise above the way Cam Newton has in Carolina.

We can only speculate. Is he too scared to screw up that he ends up screwing up? If so, that's not leadership qualities.

is he not allowed to change plays and thus the play calls are not ideal for his style?

Who knows? If he doesn't step up against Oakland then he is in trouble. Who knows, maybe 2nd string in Jacksonville or a 2QB system there might be best for him.

Yes, the Broncos have a bunch of problems other than QB but the spotlight is upon Tebow.

Question for you - Did you watch the (Den./Det.) game Sunday? I missed much of the 1st half, but I didn't see Tebow, when he was on the sidelines, looking at "defensive still pictures" or on the phone talking to someone upstairs, like I see other QB's doing? Did I just miss that or is he not getting the help?

Tebow is only starting to appease the fans. He has never been an Elway & Fox QB. They are simply starting him to keep the fan base off of their ass. Hell, Elway was reported at saying that he didn't think Tebow can play QB at the level of the NFL. Elway & Fox are gonna come out smellin like roses when the season is over though. The fans got their wish in seeing Tebow start, and now they can all see he simply can't throw the ball accurately. The lockout happening definately hurt Tebow as well. Guarantee when the season is over, Tebow along with Orton will be cut by Denver. Denver will get a Top 5 draft pick next year and Elway & Fox will draft their guy to play QB and build a team around. I bet at some point Brady Quinn will start a few games this year too. What a mess my beloved Broncos have become.

Tebow, Tebow, Tebow. I watched that game and had to turn down the sound because every other word out of the commentator's mouth was "Tebow". Enough already.

He's a spread formation QB who runs the option

unless Denver works with that then he's destined to fail along with the team.

He's the QB right now and they as a team must do everything possible to help the team succeed. Otherwise, the season will end, he'll be let go and and just be an asterisk.

Agreed, but Denver needs more help then just a QB. Their secondary is a mess. Bailey & Dawkins are too old to contribute anything positive. Thier defensive line needs to be bigger & faster. Other than Elvis & Von, they have NO pass rush.

Offensively, they just need better linemen. But I guarantee, Fox & Elway already have plans for the future of the team, and Tebow is not a part of them. IMO.

One thing you do have to point out for fairness' sake is that Denver's line is atrocious. I don't care how slow his release is when they are letting guys through over 6 times a game two weeks in a row something has to give. However, that doesn't account for the fact that his accuracy has been terrible and that his timing has only looked in sync with everyone else for three minutes of one game so far. I think if they are going to give him one more chance, they should actually give him a change. The Hybrid college/NFL offense they are attempting will not work. I think what they should do is give him the ball on Sunday and say "its all yours." During the week they can set up the offense in the best possible manner to suit him and then on Sunday he calls the shots (reasonably) and sinks or swims.

No he wouldn't, his style doesn't fit the NFL and his throwing mechanics are junk. Only one QB, Vick, seems to be able to pull off the running quarterback role these days, and that's more due to sheer athleticism than anything else, I can't stand that dog fighting jackass, but can't deny his raw talent.

his style may not fit the old NFL.

IMHO, the spread will work it's way into the NFL. If you have players with success using it in college, then give it a try

The spread won't work in the NFL. The defenses are way too fast. The reason it works in college is because no college defense is anywhere near the NFL level in terms of raw talent on the field. Even the best college teams still only field a handful of players that can make it to the NFL.

I'm not a Bronco fan, but to all the naysayers & Tebow haters I say THLATTT!( Just envision thumbs on temple, open handed & tongue out). If Tim Tebow has to get ALL the blame for last weeks total team failure vs. the Lions, then he should get the "Lion" share of credit for kicking the crap out of the "Faiders". Yes, the jury is still out on whether Tebow will be a good NFL QB & he may very well not be, but he deserves a fair shake(& better play calling from the bench). My peace has been said.

Tebow might do alright this year, but he'll get slaughtered next year as D's watch the tape and really see where is lack of talent is and how to exploit it. Plus beating the Raiders isn't really an accomplishment is it?

The Raiders are in the NFL. that means beating them is a major accomplishment.

Also, by next year Tebow will have another year of experience under his belt.

    We shall see. :-D

Eh, its the Raiders, they haven't proven anything since Gannon was on their team. We see the same thing every year there is a hot rookie or a new guy starting, opposing teams simply don't fully know how to handle them because they lack the tape history to figure out the best schemes to use against them. The truly talented stars continue to shine, the one shot wonders fade, my money is on Tebow being a one shot wonder.

The wife is from Denver and is a big Broncos fan. That's all I've got to say about that.

On a related note, I went to LSU and they beat Alabama!!!

    LSU, LSU, LSU! #1

Darn good BCS championship game we all got to see on Nov 5th

I love hearing the talking heads speak about how neither team has an offense.........really? Have they checked the scores from other games?

Both teams are firing on all cylinders and I pity any non SEC team they face.

I loved the way the Broncos ran the ball right down the Chiefs throat Sunday, but I think Thursday night's game against the Jets will be a much bigger test.

I am pulling for the Broncos, but won't be surprised if the Jets are too much.
