ABC is releasing a book and audio files with Jackie O this month.

It is reported that she fingered Johnson, and the she married O because he was the only man on the planet with a large enough private security force to offer her real protection.

    Should be an interesting read.

It was interesting to hear her take on Khrushchev, Lyndon Johnson, and Dr. King, but there was very little about the end of Camelot in Dallas.

Although, I'd heard that the interview with Schlesinger was supposed to be more broad-based, and the assassination recollections and thoughts were being given to William Manchester for use in his book.

It was good to see the old pictures of her and JFK, and to hear that wonderful voice again!

Such a sad moment in history. No mater what political party you belong to, that is heartbreaking watching that family torn apart that way.

My opinion, Johnson had a hand in it, I also think the CIA big boys did, as well as the Secret Service. The FBI (hoover was the next door neighbor and best buds with LBJ) also had a hand in it.

For anyone to feel, all government is clean that day, and Oswald acted alone (or acted at all) is beyond me.

I do not have TV, just Internet. Does anyone know if all two hours is available anywhere from the ABC broadcast of Mrs. Kennedy?

Even though you and I have differing viewpoints in the mechanics of the assassination, we can still agree on the Kennedy family.

You can find the ABC broadcast here -- http://www.hulu.com/watch/278034/jacqueline-kennedy-in-her-own-words

    Enjoy! :)

Glad you're watching the broadcast - pay attention and listen to that wonderful voice of hers!

I'll agree that there was a cover-up in the aftermath of the assassination - the CIA and the FBI had too many skeletons in their closets that couldn't see the light of day, too many things that would make them look bad if they ever were known.

But as far a conspiracy - meaning a preplanned plot to assassinate JFK - I find it less and less possible everyday. Too many things were left to chance for me to believe otherwise.

Believing in a conspiracy requires me to accept three things as fact --
    1) There was an active, organized, premeditated plot to assassinate the President.
    2) This plot barely managed to succeed - because there were too many things that could have gone wrong.
    3) But not only did this plot succeed, it has managed to remain air-tight for the past 45+ years - no investigative body has ever been able to find "the smoking gun".

For example, consider the people with just movie cameras in Dealey Plaza that afternoon - Zapruder, Nix, Bronson, Towner, Dorman, and Hughes. Incredibly, not one of them captured a clear view of the 6th floor of the TSBD during the shooting. Hughes came close to capturing the image on film, but didn't quite make it. But even more incredible, is that a conspiracy would allow motion picture and still photographs in the area of the assassination! The last thing they'd want is a photographic record that might expose their nefarious deed!

Too many things that in a conpsiracy would have never been allowed to happen for fear of exposure.

Watch the tapes of the motorcade. People are lined up five deep in places, for miles. Now look at dealey plaza. Almost absent of people. Yes, there are people, but not even close to just one block away. Why?? The why, we are told from eyewitness reports, is people with badges, not allowing people to be in that area. People were run off. Told to go away, leave the area. It was not until just moments before the shooting, some people walked into that area, and time was almost gone, too late to remove these few people.

Her voice is magic. Almost better than human.

Jack very much so, picked the perfect woman to raise his family. No woman could have supported him better. Both in his private life, and his public life.

2/3s through the tape. My wife and I will finish it tomorrow night.

    Thanks again for the link.

Their daughter holds some of the grace of the parents. No family was given so much, and no family, that I know of, paid such a high price. The sorrow of the Kennedy years, is almost unimaginable. It is for me. I have been a student of JFK in our history almost from day one. It never settled right in the pit of my stomach.

I have always been around guns. That series of shots would be impossible. There is a bullet hole clean through the limo windshield by credible eyewitness accounts, and a bullet fragment missing from concrete by the railroad overpass.

By no account, can all the bullets that we know were fired that day come from a single gun, of that type, used in Dallas that day.

My opinion, only an opinion, three shooter teams, of a total of six positioned, and one signal man (possibly Umbrella man) The signal was for the driver to stop, and it was for the teams to start firing. The Z film is a scam from the beginning. It has been butchered to look like the motorcade never stopped, and most of the people that day, said it came to an almost complete stop just before the fatal head shot.

Thanks for posting a link to that video. Very sad for sure. The affairs, possibly on both sides of the bed, were glossed over and not focused on, much to my surprise. That was part of the whole puzzle, and possibly part of the reason Jack did not get his second term. The Secret Service was outraged over the affairs. So was Hoover, and Johnson. Between his women, and his drug problems from his medical doctor prescribing him anything he wanted, we have a picture of an out of control man in the White House.

This documentary, polished Jacks memory, so the White House, and the 60's looked in full control, which they really were not.

I don't know if you ever heard the rumors and allegations, but...

This is a reprint of an article in the New York Post, July 6th, 2009 --

Jackie Kennedy had a four-year love affair with Bobby Kennedy that began not long after JFK's assassination and grew so intense that when RFK was gunned down, it was she -- not his wife -- who instructed doctors to pull the plug, an explosive new book claims.

The married senator and father of 11 kids was the former first lady's one "true love" -- and his wife, Ethel, along with the rest of the Kennedy clan, knew about their romance, according to "Bobby and Jackie: A Love Story."

"Everybody knew about the affair. The two of them carried on like a pair of lovesick teenagers," the late Franklin Roosevelt Jr., who served as JFK's undersecretary of commerce, says in the book.

"I suspect Bobby would've liked to dump Ethel and marry Jackie, but, of course, that wasn't possible."

The book, which hits shelves this month, also includes recollections of the steamy affair from a host of other Kennedy family intimates, including Pierre Salinger, Arthur Schlesinger, Jack Newfield, Gore Vidal, Truman Capote and Morton Downey Jr.

Author C. David Heymann said he spent nearly two decades researching the tome, even digging through old FBI and Secret Service files about the clandestine couple. Tapes of his exhaustive interviews are available at the SUNY Stony Brook library.

The book's most shocking claims include:

    * Six months after JFK's death, during a May 1964 dinner cruise on the presidential yacht the USS Sequoia, Bobby and Jackie "exchanged poignant glances" before disappearing below deck, leaving Ethel upstairs. "When they returned, they looked as chummy and relaxed as a pair of Cheshire cats," according to Schlesinger

    * At the Kennedys' Palm Beach estate during Christmas 1964, socialite Mary Harrington saw Jackie sunbathing topless, with Bobby kneeling at her side.

"As they began to kiss, he placed one hand on her breast and the other inside of her bikini bottom," Harrington recalled.

"I was shocked. It was clear that Bobby was sleeping with his sister-in-law."

RFK later told Harrington -- who had her own affair with RFK -- he loved Ethel but "felt just as strongly about Jackie."

    * When Commerce Department administrator Kenneth McKnight arrived for a late-evening meeting with Sen. Kennedy in July 1966, he found Bobby sitting on a sofa -- with Jackie "straddling his lap, her arms around his neck."

    * At one point, Ethel Kennedy implored family friend Frank Moore to "tell Bobby to stop sleeping with Jackie." Instead, Moore told her to find a marriage counselor.

    * Shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis -- RFK's rival for Jackie's attention -- once threatened to "bring down" Bobby by going public with details of the affair. "I could bury that sucker," Onassis said, "although I'd lose Jackie in the process."

By all accounts, the romance between Jackie and Bobby sprang from their shared grief over the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination of John F. Kennedy.

"It was the coming together of a man and a woman as a result of his bereavement and her mental suffering at the hands of her late, lecherous husband," according to Jackie confidant Truman Capote.

"It was passionate, [but] it was doomed."

According to Gore Vidal, "The one person Jackie ever loved . . . was Robert Kennedy."

"You had to be deaf, dumb and blind not to see it," recalled Kennedy family friend Chuck Spalding, who often traveled with the pair.

Ethel -- who stayed home with the kids in Virginia -- knew about their relationship, but "evidently chose to ignore it," Heymann writes. She was confident RFK would never leave her or their family.

Still, whenever Jackie visited Bobby in Hyannis Port, "Ethel would jump up and leave the room."

By mid-1967, Jackie -- who had also been dating Onassis -- was contemplating marriage to him. She agreed to wait until after Bobby's 1968 presidential run.

RFK told Pierre Salinger, "She'll marry that man over my dead body."

On March 16, 1968, Bobby announced his bid for president. The next morning, a "morose" RFK called Jack Newfield from Jackie's apartment.

"If I had to hazard a guess," the late Post columnist recalled, "I'd say this must have been their last romantic occasion together."

On June 4, minutes after winning the California primary, Bobby was fatally shot by Sirhan Sirhan at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

Jackie flew to his bedside -- and Ethel allowed her time alone with the dying RFK, according to the book.

Bobby was brain-dead, but a distraught Ethel refused to pull the plug, and brother Ted Kennedy was in no shape to make the call, Heymann writes.

At 1:20 a.m. June 6, 1968, Jackie Kennedy ordered the respirator shut down and signed the consent form, the book reveals.

    That October, she married Onassis.

I would hate to think this is true. Something about sleeping with the widow of your murdered brother, or conversely, sleeping with the married brother of your murdered husband, bothers me.

Onassis was little more than 24/7 protection for Mrs. Kennedy. He got a trophy wife, and she got hundreds of bodyguards for herself and her children.

As for the affairs, who among us has always kept their zippers up? J. was schooled in the French culture where one had dutiful wives, and pleasure filled mistresses. She knew the roll of each, and knew where the boundaries were.

Jack was not alone in his carnal knowledge. At 31 fresh in their marriage, a woman is at the height of her sexual desires, and at his mid 40's, he was a few years past his sexual curve. No one will ever know all that took place in the bedrooms of that Presidency, but suffice it to say, what was good for the goose, may have been better for the gooses lovely bride.

I hope someday to know the facts of the murder, down to the last detail. I would love to know, as we all would.

One thing is clear, a vibrant leader of a great nation, was terminated that day in Dallas. It was not fair for him, it was not fair for his family, and it was not fair for you and me,

Elect me president, and the door at the henge's, comes off my off white house office.

In the first 30 days, all FBI files on JFK, and LBJ are opened. All of them.

http://mcadams.posc.mu.edu/russ/animation.htm Here is an animation of the car postions as they proceeded down Houston and Elm Sts. Notice car #1, the lead car take off after turning onto Elm St. and car # 4, the VP car slow to almost a complete stop before turning on to Elm St., this can be seen in the original Hughes film [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEPyzR1c_mc"]Hughes film of John F. Kennedy assassination - YouTube[/ame]. Emory Roberts stated in his report...The VP car was approximatley one-half block behind the SS car, at the time of the shooting, and some of us waved for it to close in closer to the SS car. The VP car quickly closed the gap. But as you can see from the animation and the Hughes film the gap was set up prior to thier turn onto Elm St. It appears, to me anyway, that the lead car and the VP car were expecting shots to come.

I reread this entire post and what amazes me is how the truth of all this is so base. We as humans do seem to do all our thinking, planing and scheeming with our genitals. I think Bobby was a little better at womanizing without being caught at it than his brother JFK. Maybe Jackie looked at Bobby like a more pure version of her husband? Maybe Jackie was just as base as her husband was. Maybe all the times JFK was off doing secret service call girls in five star hotlel rooms across the nation and the world, the wife was home in the white hose banging the secret service staff in orgies that would have shocked the Romans.

We will never know for sure what goes on behind closed doors. What we do know is camalot was broken forever on nov 22, 1963.

I miss my fallen president with all his shortcomings. I miss all that was taken from me that day. More was taken from Jackie than was taken from any of us. If the price of all that was taken from her was she was allowed to find something close to what she had, maybe that is not so bad. Maybe that is how nature intended it to be. I say good for her.

That family, from the bootlegging to the shady bank deals, to the stolen election votes purchased from the mob, has had a interesting ride in our American history. Too bad it has mostly been whitewashed to look better than it really was. I prefer to see and read the truth, however base it is. Such a blessing and such a curse to be called a Kennedy.
