James Madison warned us that somebody as reckless as Donald Trump might come along.

Twice in recent days, Trump has called for House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.) to be hauled in for treason, which is punishable by death. Schiff’s crime? At a hearing last week, the Intelligence Committee chairman read a parody of Trump’s now-infamous telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The humor, unsurprisingly, was lost on someone with an exaggerated sense of victimhood and an ego made of eggshells. Trump rage-tweeted Sunday that Schiff’s “lies were made in perhaps the most blatant and sinister manner ever seen in the great Chamber. He wrote down and read terrible things, then said it was from the mouth of the President of the United States. I want Schiff questioned at the highest level for Fraud & Treason..... .” On Monday morning, Trump upped that outrageous demand by suggesting that Schiff actually be arrested for treason.

James Madison would have no problem with Trump whatsoever. He would, however, have serious problems with a congress trying to overthrow a duly elected president. It was Madison that killed "maladministration" as grounds for impeachment because it would make impeachment more at the political whim of congress.

Shifty Schiiff only said it was a parody after he got called out for lying. There was no indication before that that it was tongue-in-cheek. Schiff was clearly lying about what was said during the conversation. And he was lying while in committee as chairman. Just like he lied about "ample evidence of collusion in plain sight." Just like he lied about his committee not being in contact with the first whitleblower (fraud).

All you leftists talk about how unpresidential Trump is because of his lack of concern for precedent, but perhaps you can tell me a time before when a committee chairman clearly lied and then claimed he was doing a parody in committee?

 

Yes, Madison jumped in his time machine and saw that Adam Schiff is the only intelligent person left in the US government and that all of the charges against Trump are legit.

 

You said it’s not an impeachment inquiry, and you said republican committee members aren’t allowed to attend. That is made up nonsense.

 

It isn’t...no vote was taken for one, and two it’s not in the right committee, impeachment happens in the judiciary committee and yes one of its members tried to attend a disposition and was denied access last week

 

A vote is not required. It is the right committee, and republican members are attending and participating in the investigation. And no committee member has been denied access.
