    She has moved to Washington D.C. and plans to demonstrate every Friday, so this may become a weekly event.

    The first amendment does not include actively aiding and abetting the enemy.

    However, I agree the Vietnam war was was a waste of lives and money.

    No, I'm not opposed to free speech, or peaceful assembly, which are constitutional rights! What I am opposed to is an American citizen committing treason against there country! We used to try and if convicted, hung up to WWII.

    I found something that will explain about the law in Washington about what those protester could be face with
    It is unlawful for a person, alone or in concert with others, to crowd, obstruct, or incommode the use of any street, avenue, alley, road, highway, or sidewalk, or the entrance of any public or private building or enclosure or the use of or passage through any public conveyance, and to continue or resume the crowding, obstructing, or incommoding after being instructed by a law enforcement officer to cease the crowding, obstructing, or incommoding. A person who violates any provision of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined not more than $500, imprisoned for not more than 90 days, or both.
    Jane Fonda and those 16 others should receive the maximum punishments. That's the bottom line period.

    Well if that may be the case, It won't last because Jane Fonda and the protesters will have to do it from prison, because that's where they'll be in months or years to come.

    Here is what you need to know about what Jane Fonda and their protesters are doing wrong
    § 22–1307. Crowding, obstructing, or incommoding.
    (a) It is unlawful for a person, alone or in concert with others:
    (1) To crowd, obstruct, or incommode:
    (A) The use of any street, avenue, alley, road, highway, or sidewalk;
    (B) The entrance of any public or private building or enclosure;
    (C) The use of or passage through any public building or public conveyance; or
    (D) The passage through or within any park or reservation; and
    (2) To continue or resume the crowding, obstructing, or incommoding after being instructed by a law enforcement officer to cease the crowding, obstructing, or incommoding.
    (b)(1) It is unlawful for a person, alone or in concert with others, to engage in a demonstration in an area where it is otherwise unlawful to demonstrate and to continue or resume engaging in a demonstration after being instructed by a law enforcement officer to cease engaging in a demonstration.
    (2) For purposes of this subsection, the term “demonstration” means marching, congregating, standing, sitting, lying down, parading, demonstrating, or patrolling by one or more persons, with or without signs, for the purpose of persuading one or more individuals, or the public, or to protest some action, attitude, or belief.
    (c) A person who violates any provision of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined not more than the amount set forth in § 22-3571.01, imprisoned for not more than 90 days, or both.

    Jane Fonda and the others that protest with Oil Change International should be told to stay out of the way of our U.S. Senators, Members of Congress and others associated with our government that are to have the access to the political buildings and I want to comment the Capitol Police for their efforts for doing what they did. If Fonda and these protesters continue to do what they've been arrested for should stand trial and convicted ought be fined $1,000.00 and six months in prison or maybe double or triple the maximum punishment if they disobey the justice system. Her protesting will STOP one way or another.

    It's not like any of those fools will accomplish anything once they get to where they are going. Congress have an extremely low approval rating. They should be paying us for taking up space and doing nothing.

    What Fonda did was distasteful and disgusting, but you would have a hard time proving treason.

    There's room for hypocrisy on both sides. Didn't the reps accused the dems for withdrawing from VN?

    Possibly. I'm too young for that conversation. I will look it up for sure. I find it odd though that the Dems are mad that Trump wants to get our soldiers out of a needless confrontation. Do you find this war justified?

    Me personally, I believe the Syrian gvt (who sucks obviously- human rights-wise) should handle it. There's also the Arab League that is supposed to be handling this...

    But if you want my men to die in Syria then say so

    I didn't see the war in Iraq as necessary, which started this entire mess. I will note that the righties here were all up in arms when Obama want to withdraw troops from this region (which timetable was set by Bush). I have always maintained that Israel needs to grow a pair and fight their own damn wars, and that people in position to be sending your sons, daughters, aunt, uncles, father, mother into a war zone, should be forced to send their relatives, and also themselves to lead the charge. We'll see these useless "adventures" end really quick.

    I think we have similar views. However, Israel is a tiny nation and if we want to let them off their leash, they will DESTROY a nation. I take it you haven't trained with them. Being so small, they will use any means necessary.

    But you didn't really respond to my point. This Syrian war was started by Obama. You can blame Iraq...we can go back to Bush 1...blah blah blah...

    But it was started by the Democrats.

    Now, that being said- why are we there now?

    The answer is we should not be there. But since we are already there, we have a responsibility to withdraw in an orderly manner, and not just leave in a sudden fashion leaving the civilian population in danger. Besides, the move is suspect and I don't think it have anything to do with saving the troops lives.

    As far as keeping Israel on a "leash" we have not done a good job letting them stealing land to build their settlements. We kowtowed to their interest by declaring Jerusalem their capital. We benefit nothing from that move.

    I was assigned to Blytheville AFB Arkansas in 1972. Not long after Jane Fonda made her trip to North Vietnam, we lost three B-52s over North Vietnam. That is three B-52s out of a squadron of around fifteen with about twenty US Airmen on board. I have never seen an Air Force base go into such a state of depression. It was a small base and I knew several members who died and most likely had seen and talked to all of them at one time.

    It is hard to forgive an American who proudly stood beside the North Vietnam anti-aircraft gun proudly wearing a North Vietnam helmet. She gave comfort and encouragement to our enemy and I have no doubt that her encouragement resulted in the death of some of our servicemen. I have forgiven a lot of people for a lot of things, but never her.

    So just to be clear, you want American soldiers (my Men) to die for a fight that ENDED. Did you support the effort to get out of Afghanistan in 2002 when we completely destroyed the ALQ and Taliban cells in all major cities?
