There is no basis for assuming that FDR would have held back our attacks against Japan during the war.

That's not what all the military leaders were saying during the war when the bombs were dropped.

The idea that attacking the enemy during WWII was a political decision is just goofy.

No, actually we all had this strange desire to make Japan surrender to us.

Japan was the one who decided to wait until we nuked them twice before they surrendered.
