Thinking that terrorists need to be able to cross our Southern border in order to commit terrorism in the U.S. displays a "lack of imagination". If you want to increase security on the border to inhibit illegal immigration than do so. But it won't do much of anything to prevent terrorism since there are U.S. citizens willing to commit acts on behalf of ISIL. Have you forgotten that the Boston bombers and the guy at Ft.Hood were here legally?? Did you not read about all the U.S. born American citizens who have traveled to join ISIL or attempted to travel to join ISIL?

You warn not to lack imagination in regard to terror threats and then you immediately display your own lack of imagination in regard to terror threats.

And one final thing- if you truly feel that lack of security on the Southern border enables would be terrorists than you should be pushing just as much for improved security on the Northern border. In fact, it should be your priority over the Southern border since the Northern border is much longer and, being mostly wooded, easier to sneak across than open desert. Somehow I doubt you will start clamoring for more security on the U.S. / Canadian border.

Oh look at all those american white guys with guns (and bombs and such) that have committed terrorist or related acts in the US in the past 18 years.

    http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/publications/terror-from-the-right

Add that to the bunch the white guys that have committed mass murder and the number of americans killed by domestic muslim terrorists pales in comparison.

Interesting that the right insists that guns kill people, ignorning the motivations and stability of plain criminals. But also ignores domestic organizations that commit terror and criminal acts like anarchists, white supremecist pinhead extremists, the national socialist movement (nazis), militia extremists, and lets not forget the "sovereign citizens" in all their craziness, the anti-abortionists, to name but a few of the more prominent groups.

Seems extremists come in all sizes and shapes but for some reason american muslims are far more of a threat.

No it wasn't. But at least you are starting to get the idea.

As I attempted to explain earlier. Muslim extremists have a totally distorted view of their religion. They learned this from equally distorted individuals. As far as religious interpretation is concerned it is very similar (sans violence) to christian nutbars that believe that the earth is 6,000 years old - they were indoctrinated to believe.

The sad part for us all is that muslim extremist interpretations involve violence which is ironically sinful. Especially killing fellow muslims. But of course they get around that by calling their victims apostates. Similar mental gymnastics can be found in varying degrees in all relgions. For example "thou shall not kill" isn't applicable when applying "and eye for an eye" and executing criminals.

And the fact that many muslims believe in a) capital punishment and b) its applicability to apostacy (thought crimes) might be abhorant to western culture but isn't in muslim cultures.

Many cultures have the death penalty for drug dealers, for corporate criminals. Do you think them to be barbaric and murderous for having such laws so different from western jurisprudence?

I do agree that there are a number of geographic areas where extreme islamism rules the roost. For instance, there are only a handful of countries where sharia is the law of the land.

Disagree all you want, but you can't change mathematical ratios regardless of your attitude.

I was asking you a question about - what being jewish would have to do with anything. So what exactly does being jewish or not have to do with anything in this discussion?

If I had to guess it would have something to do with your apparent animosity towards jews.

AS soon as christianity was ascendent it started serving the state and became domineering, which was immediately after Nicea. How many gnostics were liquidated in the 4th century?

The reformation did no such thing. It created the schism in the church and even prompted the thirty years war. How about reading a history book. It was the aftermath of the reformation coupled with the enlightenment where christians of all stripes decided that fighting over who loved jesus more was stupid and counter productive. History books are veritable founts of knowledge you know.

Apparently you don't understand it at all. no person of the book can be compelled to accept Islam. Are you familiar with the criteria for paying jizya and the exemptions it afforded the payer? Conversion was an option, as was gettin' outta dodge.

I know its hard to imagine any society in the past that would actually consider those not like the ruling class to be 2nd class citizens. You at all familiar with american history, for instance?

Not a standard argument, a standard HISTORICAL observation.

Unbelievable. "yeah but, they didn't pass it enthusiastically enough, they didn't want to look bad" What a magnificent pile of crap.

I'm sure you think you are being clever, but it is quite apparent that you cannot follow a line of reasoning from one post to the next.
If you have an alternative excuse for the nonsensical response above, I'd luv to hear it.

I didn't say that mass killings = terrorist attacks. Whats stikes me as really dumb is the inablity to grasp clear points being made.

Are you suggesting that an attack that strikes terror into the hearts of a community is not a terrorist attack? That the kid your example didn't know he'd be scaring the crap out of everyone BEFORE he did it?

    .

Because convictions are a better indicator of numbers. Of course nobody is ever arrested who isn't guilty.

I am well aware of the disparity in crime between blacks and white.
I am also aware that black on black crime and white on white crime are vastly greater than interracial crime.

Wow, you seem to be making a convincing argument about the lousy math education in america.
Rate of incidence in groups is a valid comparative between groups of differing sizes.

Yet it seems to me that you are not as concerned about my (erroneously labelled) obsession with all american white boys with guns, as you are about your own obsessive bigotry against muslims, blacks and jews.

I never claimed to be a jew.

I can't help it if you can neither follow a multi-post discussion point, nor identify a rhetorical question or even know what one is.

As to who knows? I do and I couldn't care less that you don't.

I am aware of the far right's penchant to only recognize facts and information that they like and that do not pose any challenge to their intransigent self righteousness.

As to white washing. I readily admit to doing it a couple times a day every day at the very least. Perhaps you should try it.

I suggest that you try to fix the Muslim problem in your own country first instead of butting into ours. Does Rotherham ring a bell? Britain has a huge problem with terror cells and people leaving to join ISIS and beheading people.
